All the inactive polygon blogs I followed back in the day are rising from the dead to shit on vox media once more

Jenna made some statements on her Twitch stream:

1. She does not believe her layoff was due to her Union involvement. She would have sued if she thought that was the case.

2. Vox laid off 2% of its staff as a precautionary measure due to fears of economic downturn. She is the only staff member at Polygon to lose her job.

3. Jenna is pretty torn up about being let go in this manner, but still is very grateful for her time on the video team, and will miss her colleagues a great deal. “Everyone at Polygon is great. Except for management.” She also specified that Tara Long was not involved with her layoff.

4. Due to a “right of first refusal” clause in the union contract, Polygon will not be able to hire another video producer for the next 6 months. The video team was already down one person, now they will be down 2. Jenna called this a “patently insane” move by Vox, considering they wanted to increase the output of the video team.
