Say what you will about GOT and D&D, but the final few minutes where the Sansa, Arya, and Jon are walking to pursue each of their destinies as Queen of the North, an adventurer, and a wilding while a rendition of the Game of Thrones theme plays in the background will remain one of the most beautiful, poetic, and empowering scenes in the whole series.

When I first saw Game of Thrones on April 17, 2011, I was instantly in love. With the storytelling, the actors, the happy times and the heartaches. As the years went on I knew I would be crying during the finale, I knew I would be heartbroken. But with the last few weeks, I did not count on crying. I counted on being dissatisfied. Now, I am crying. And I cannot seem to stop. I feel cheated. I feel confused. And I am heartbroken. I don’t understand what I just watched, but it wasn’t my Game of Thrones. It wasn’t the ending I feel we deserved. It wasn’t the ending the actors deserved. It wasn’t anything. I’m not crying because of the beauty and the tragedy that the episode should have been. I am crying because of what it wasn’t.
