Nothing but the old and decayed that caught my eyes here...O well, that’s Penang for you! Yes, you don’t even need a cab to bring you here, just a nice 10 minute walk from the pier should get you here.
The journey onboard the Spectrum of the Seas was a relaxing one, minus the fact the Asian leg of Royal Caribbean Cruise service level has deteriorated way pass the point of acceptability. I guess most cruisers were first timers themselves, not knowing any better.
Here, we decided to explore the island of Penang ourselves, and take in the sights at a more leisurely pace.
All I want for Christmas is to have at least a day to enjoy photography during work trips!Â
The Petronas Tower in Kuala Lumpur.
Let’s exercise in the rain!
Fort Canning Park’s vantage point.
Bugis, along with some of her neighboring attractions...
The calm before the 100km storm....
Finally...Tuas’!s last lamppost!Â
A day with two venues - Little Guilin Singapore and Upper Pierce Reservoir!
I must still gripe about the inefficient workflow offered in Capture One Pro that makes processing simple raw images a real nightmare!
The Sanctuary of Truth visited - perhaps the most iconic structure in Pattaya. Intricately carved entirely from teak wood, the awe-inspiring 105-metre-tall hall etc.
Hearty congratulation! A privilege to be of help towards your marriage!
Beating the odds, beating everyone.
That’s how I would describe Apple today...in a phrase.
Bought that fancy USD40 T-shirt of Apple Park as a way of encouraging them forward. (Nope. Nothing worth buying in Microsoft)
Bravo Apple!
Always in a rush...but here’s a refreshed clash of the two titans I cramped into my last journey in Seattle and San Francisco - Microsoft vs Apple.
Notice the star contrast in culture, architect and people between the two companies! Almost as clear between black and white...
Enjoy!
Welcome to the capital of New Zealand - Wellington!
The free 1-hour tour within the Beehive was enlightening and much appreciated, with people all friendly and all. The wet morning didnt help from the photography standpoint, but nothing dampens as much as the sudden cold front that Wellington underwent that day, bringing the temperature down to a chilly-wet 11 degrees.
With barely a few hours to spare, a quick visit up the Botanic Garden and train museum followed by a snippy fast food lunch was all I have got time for!
Hopefully, the cruise feedback will extend the work dock operation in the future.
Welcome to Papeete today!
A tough place to shoot with a fixed 24mm lens.
Not even the waterfalls of Faaurumai Valley, nor the Arahoho blow hole could save the day! The Chinese-made rented vehicle that came from Avis was fun to drive as it revs with a vengeance and kept everyone from sleeping!
The fine weather did help lift the mood...and maybe with some local fruits too.Â
The island looks like the figure of eight from the map, with the bigger portion of the island called Taihiti-Nui, and the lower smaller portion as Taihiti-iti. Round island, it took us a full day to go round it, clocking around 160km in distance.
Finding colors on the island of Bora Bora!
Tough but not impossible...with the Sony RX-0. I am really surprised to see folks here attempting to keep their unused small water crafts off the corrosive sea water in small primitive pulley frames.Â
In between photo stops, you will come across well-managed, vibrant shops hawking their wares. The petite but very capable Sony camera accompanied me on the tougher, more treacherous ascends, stuffed at the back of my running tights like no other camera can. And the images that were brought home ain’ t looking too shabby too.
It has taken a few bumps and knocks along the way, losing some paint work off her magnesium alloy frame...but its all good. I really like this wonder!
