Don't think I'll ever get over his side profile
Inspired by my walking past a home built in 1754 in my new neighborhood, which isn't even the oldest building in the city. As someone born and raised in the Western US (where we do have some very old buildings, contrary to popular belief, just not in the middle of most cities), it made me curious!
When was the oldest extant building you can reasonably walk to from your home built?
20th century
19th century
18th century
17th century
16th century
15th century
14th century
13th century
12th century
11th century
10th century or before
(Use your judgement for definitions of "extant," it doesn't have to be used for its original purpose but my intention is a building that could theoretically still be used, not just the remnants of one.)
my excessive use of commas and my love of run on sentences is alluring and attractive to my readers
i have this half-baked idea about molly o’brien working on a school project on the different species and cultures on ds9 and she has to go around interviewing people about their home planets and their animals/plants/climate
worf (has barely been on qo’nos): ”the targ is a beautiful and honorable animal.” end of interview. 0/10.
jadzia: in-depth and quite disgusting explanation about how the symbiont works, including the transplantation process. way too many medical details are included but molly seems to like it. 5/10.
garak: in-depth explanation about the different animals and plants on prime with a long detour into what types of poetry have been written about each one. he goes home and drinks himself to sleep afterwards. alcohol poisoning/10.
quark: ”yeah ferenginar fucking SUUUUUUUCKS. write that down, kid. S-U-C-K-S” useless/10.
odo: slithers into a drain to avoid questions about the founders and also because he’s scared of human children. slime/10
julian: HE’S GOT SO MUCH TO TELL YOU ABOUT EARTH AND ALSO BIG PUPPY EYES. irrelevant to the assignment/10
Miles: lovingly prepares a full presentation about the birdlife of Ireland; Molly doesn’t ask him. Sad/10
if you can believe it
