I’m not sure but I’ve forgotten to lock the door numerous times and not died yet so I think we’re safe. Then again I’m on the top floor. You?
Oh man. I’m glad nothing bad happened, although I couldn’t imagine anyone wanting to hurt a small child. I’m on the third floor, so.. not as safe, but I guess if you’ve left your door unlocked and nothing's happened, I should be okay.
becspierce:
Yeah, it’s cool. Nope, they didn’t tell me anything about any security. I’m Beck, what’s your name, beautiful?
I’ll just have to annoy the staff until they give me more info then, I guess. It’s nice to meet you, Beck, I’m Sophie. Are you from around here?
kasmotta:
Yeah, it really is. I’m liking the apartment so far, but considering the city itself is a mess for someone like me, I haven’t really been able to do much.
Kassia, but everyone calls me Kas. I also answer to Cinn’Sauce but that’s from my hockey days. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Sophie.
Ugh, I’m sorry. Maybe I can do some research to find something fun for us to do one of these days? Only if you want to, of course. Can’t say I’m all that familiar with the city just yet, but I’d like to venture out.
Pleasure to meet you as well, Kas. Cinn’Sauce.. that’s quite the nickname. Was that self-given, or did your teammates come up with that? My dad is a huge hockey fan, so I grew up watching it religiously. Not exactly willingly at first, but it grew on me once I realized I could escape chores by showing interest.. and that it was fun to yell at the TV. Favorite team?
run-run-riley:
Same, if I’m honest. I asked very few questions… Just carried my stuff in and headed straight for the apartment. And Adam himself didn’t give me a ton of information. Is it your usual M.O. to get all the details on things? I’m a leap first, look later person, which possibly isn’t the best trait.
It’s wonderful, though also quite sad. Wouldn’t want anyone I love to need this place, even if it is one of the nicer places I’ve ever lived. England, though I grew up both there and in the United States, and I’ve lived in enough places that it’s hard to really name a hometown. You?
I used to be a little less detail-oriented, I guess. These days it’s hard for me to do much of anything without worrying about every little thing, so.. having details helps. Leaves less to the imagination and my mind can’t run as wild as it would like to.
Right. Sorry about that. I’ve found that the unfamiliarity of.. well, all of this, isn’t doing me much good, so I’m sure it’s comforting to have a familiar face around, at least. But yes, this place isn’t exactly where I would hope to find my loved ones. That said, I hope you and your friend are both doing well. That’s interesting-- can’t say I’ve met many people from outside of the States. I’m from Kentucky. Bowling Green, to be exact.. I don’t blame you if you haven’t heard of it. Did you spend much time in New York prior to moving into Safe Haven?
kasmotta:
Yeah, and Adam seems like a good guy. Eh, you’re right to be wary, new places are always strange. A week, tops? You’ve got a name, cutie?
He really does, it’s amazing what he’s doing. Are you liking it here so far?
It’s Sophie. What’s yours?
royreadinghigh:
I haven’t exactly inspected the security system but I’m sure if you speak with someone in the IT department they could run down the specifics for you? Just to settle your nerves.
No one’s broken into our apartment since I got here, so I’m sure you’re safe.
Hey, that’s a good idea. I’ll add that to my list of things to do tomorrow. Thanks. I’m Sophie, by the way.
carsonfinley:
I’ve been here for almost two years and haven’t had any reason to be concerned about the safety of the building, nor those within it.
Two years? Okay, that makes me feel a bit better. Thank you.
run-run-riley:
I tried to do that too, but Google was no use at all. And actually, that was something I found quite comforting in terms of security. If we can’t learn a thing about this place, neither can anyone we might like to avoid. I’ve seen people around, but I’d be hard pressed to guess whether or not they live or work here in some cases… To be honest, I’m not especially attentive to detail. It took two weeks for me to realize that my best friend lives here.
Riley… Pleasure to meet you.
Very true, I’m feeling a bit better already. I’ll make a point to hassle reception for more information tomorrow, though-- I was so eager to move in that I didn’t really stop to ask many questions, and that’s clearly backfiring on me at the moment. Well, that’s lucky that your best friend lives here. Where are you from originally?
lainexboy:
While I haven’t been here that long, my older sister has, and from what I’ve gathered the place is pretty safe.
Well, that’s good to hear. I hope you’re right. How long have you been here? Are you liking it so far?
kasmotta:
Uh, haven’t been here long enough to say for sure, but I feel like it is?
Right. I suppose they wouldn’t have “safe” in the name if they let just anybody inside to wreak havoc. I should stop overthinking this. How long have you been here?
luck-be-a-lilah:
A couple months now. There’s got to be some kind of security in this place. I bet Alex knows, if you end up talking to her. She knows everything about this building, I think. Did you just get here today?
Noted. I’ll be sure to ask if I run into her, thanks. Yup, first day here-- feeling all kinds of grateful and all that mushy stuff. Hoping the unease will go away once I make it through the first night, but that may just be wishful thinking.
becspierce:
I, uh, don’t really know? I just got here two days ago. From what I can tell, it seems pretty safe.
Ah, a newbie like me. You’re finding it okay so far? Did they tell you about any security stuff when you first arrived? Cameras, alarms.. things like that? I feel like I’m missing some information.
devonlo:
Once a very large man carried me up to my apartment when I got too tired from a run. I’m not sure if he was security or not but… kind of the same thing.
Oh. Comforting. I imagine you would have found out pretty quickly if he had malicious intent. He just carried you up and then left? Did he tell you his name? Have you seen him since then?
bsmythe:
I’d say it’s pretty secure, but I wouldn’t bet my life on it. I’ve just been hoping the last few months. You scared?
Mm, great. Sounds like I’m going to be getting a ton of sleep. Maybe a little scared, but I’m sure there are some tough people around here who I can befriend. Or.. y’know, I could try to continue my Tae Kwon Do career from when I was a kid.
