The first pride was a riot, more specifically a riot against police violence. Trans women like Miss Major and other people of colour paved the way for the celebration of pride today. You cannot celebrate your pride this month, or any month if you aren’t also supporting Black Lives Matter and the riots going on against police violence right now. Us white LGBTQ+ need to stand up for our black siblings and their rights, their struggles. Young Black boy killed during Protests by White Supremacist!!!

Black Protester Shot to Death Outside Omaha Bar

A young black protester was shot dead outside a bar in Omaha as unrest across the nation engulfed the Nebraska city, by white supremacist Jake Gardner.

The victim was identified as 22-year-old James Scurlock, whose father called for justice as the city braced for another night of chaos.

“Last night I lost a son, my wife lost a son, my kids lost a brother,” the grieving dad, who has the same name, told reporters at the Malcolm X Memorial Foundation Visitors Center, “His daughter lost a father. All because he decided to protest against racism.“

Unfortunetly, Prosecutors in Omaha, Nebraska, said Monday that the white bar owner will not face charges because in their minds “video evidence shows he acted in self defense” even though he had aimed the gun to a crowd of unarmed protesters and James only got involved to protect anyone form getting shot, resulting in losing his life, as both videos here show: video1/video2

The murderer, Jake Gardner, also owns 2 bars one of which was closed down because of an outpour of reviews stating they woulf often refuse service to black people and were known as violent racists. His other bar seems to be having the same issues.

while protestors are out on the streets asking justice for breonna taylor's murder, louisville law enforcement has senselessly murdered another black man, david mcatee. he was the owner of a bbq restaurant and he was literally at the protests feeding people when he was killed after law enforcement blindly shot into a crowd!! his family says he was shot while trying to protect his niece!! he was known to feed police officers for free!! he was a good, kind man! say his name!!

important reminder that his murder occurred a 10 minute drive (or approx. 40 min walk) away from the protest sites... in a black neighborhood. his body was left out in the streets for nearly 12 hours. the officers who shot him were not wearing / did not activate their body cameras... so there is no evidence of the shooting. (people have asked for a time stamp for when this happend. this murder occurred on june 1st)

TO TAKE ACTION:

you can sign a petition to bring justice to david and his family, by requesting the louisville mayor to take appropriate action by making sure the killer is identified and arrested.

Update on LA. The city council keeps changing the curfew time. For example, the curfew was supposed to be 8 pm yesterday and they changed it to a 6 pm around 5 pm. Today they changed the 6 pm curfew to 5 pm, but waited till 4pm to do so. The reason for this is the continued suppression of protesters. If you are not from LA, it can take some indivuals two hours to get home. So many people do not have time to make it home before curfew and many do not realize the curfew time has changed until they are being arrested. The reason of these sudden curfew isn’t for our protection like the LA council claims, it is to give them violent means to arrest protesters who did nothing wrong. LA city council is sending the clear message that instead of ending police brutality, they are expanding it.

i know there’s a lot going on but ICE are now one step closer to literally creating gas chambers. they are spraying a chemical called HDQ neutral roughly 100 times a day, every 15 minutes at the adelanto detention center (one of the biggest in the country). people are getting rashes, headaches, their insides are bleeding, etc. the guards are wearing gloves and masks but the detainees have NOTHING. and here’s a quick reminder - america inspired the nazis to create gas chambers when they gassed latino people during the 1917 bath riots.
