Studio Ghibli Co-Founder Isao Takahata Dies At 82
Isao Takahata, co-founder of Studio Ghibli and director of such animated films as Grave of the Fireflies, passed away today in a Tokyo hospital at the age of 82, according to various Japanese news sources.
Takahata’s distinguished career as a producer, director, and animator began in 1959 when he joined Toei Animation as an assistant. There, he met his longtime collaborator and fellow animation legend Hayao Miyazaki, with whom he later founded Studio Ghibli along with Toshio Suzuki.
A number of Studio Ghibli’s most famous anime have benefited from Takahata’s hand as a producer, director or writer. After producing 1984’s Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind and 1986’s Castle in the Sky, Takahata directed Grave of the Fireflies, a brilliant and devastating World War II drama that received universal acclaim.
Between 1991 and 2013, Takahata directed Only Yesterday, Pom Poko, My Neighbors the Yamadas, and The Tale of Princess Kayuga, the latter of which was nominated for an Academy Award. He continued working through 2016.

Why Society Sucks
I am so sick of the way society is today, why? I dont understand what goes through peoples heads that makes them think a certain way, for example, people who think Gay/Bisexual/Pansexual/Transgender and every other "Category" that we as people are put under, are wrong for thinking "that way" and we are taught to be ashamed of who we are. Why are we being taught to be afraid of ourselves? We shouldnt have to walk down the street and be called "goth/emo/freak" just because we dress the way we want to dress or blast screamo music through our headphones. I know im kind of generalising but my point is why are people so ignorant to the fact that because a certain person may not share the same opinion on a certain subject doesnt mean that they are wrong, hence why it is merely an opinion and not a fact. I know im only a tiny account with a minimal follower count but anyone who actually bothers reading this need to know that you are perfect the way you are and dont listen or pay attention to anyone who tells you any different. Hopefully you can get through this day, week, year and to quote one of my favourite bands, All Time Low: "Maybe its not my weekend, but it gonna be my year" Take your life and make it Yours. Please dont take it out on yourself, just think, in 10-15 years you could sit back and look at your life and think"What was i doing?" And you will regret every moment you spent thinking about the negative shit in your life. I completely understand and have been in a very deep dark hole and i never thought i would get out but eventually i did. Sorry this is so long but please hold on , you deserve to see tomorrows sun ☀️💙✨
