I love your Nirvana in Fire art! Who’s your favorite character to draw?

I’m so overjoyed to receive a message on this account! I Tried™ so very sincerely to do the sideblog thing with this blog, but this blog has sort of been abandoned in favor of making my main multi-fandom. (oops.)

My favorite character to draw so far is chibi!Jingmum. She’s just so tranquil and lovely and awesome. Though, honestly, drawing everyone and anyone is as much a joy as it is a terror, because their outfits are so maddeningly complex—with the exception of MCS’s outfit, which swings to the other extreme by being determined to look like a bathrobe no matter how I stylize it. I seriously need to draw more of these guys!

So here’s a scene I got in my head after seeing the trailers for Black Panther and Infinity War! \o/ I’m super excited to see the fantastic Wakandan wardrobe designs, along with the new arm Bucky will be showing off! Though, uhh… what I drew is far from accurate as I could only find fuzzy screenshots to reference, lol… Had to BS most of it… and I definitely exaggerated the gold bits! Anyway, I originally hoped that Tony Stark would be the one to replace his arm with a fresh design, to be a bright new starting point between them - but I’m pretty happy with the idea of T’Challa gifting him this during his recovery period. Great way to make up for scaring him so badly in Civil War, eh? ////

This is such a small detail, but the more I think about it, the more I realise what an amazing bit of plotting this is. At the beginning of the drama, Mei Changsu has just put the Sixth Prince of Bei Yan on the throne, and this prince is described as previously having no power and no talent to speak of. Obviously first, this cements Mei Changsu’s reputation as the Divine Talent who can obtain the world, thus setting him off to Jinling. But here’s the real kicker: the emperor of Liang is concerned enough about Bei Yan’s power that he doesn’t want Nihuang marrying there, so they are formidable enemy. By putting a mediocre prince on the throne, Mei Changsu is basically weakening Bei Yan’s power, probably making them less of a headache of Emperor Jingyan down the road. It just goes to show how intricately Mei Changsu plans all of this. - R
