When I was young I sat and read the entirety of this short book Stone Fox in the living room one afternoon and sobbed hysterically because the dog dies winning this sled race so the kid protag can get medicine for his sick father. I've never cried like that from a book to this day and it's been over a decade.

Whenever I read "I don't take vegans seriously because X" I'm forced to roll my eyes. You don't take us seriously because you don't want to, and you don't want to because making any kind of lifestyle change in the name of your beliefs is seen as too much effort these days.

Something so frustrating about being vegan in a non vegan space is that people literally just do not understand that I am against animal exploitation in every way. It does not click for them no matter how many times I repeat myself.

"But these farms treat their animals really well before they kill them!" Did you miss the part where I said unnecessary animal death is something I'm against? Did you miss the part where I said I don't care how nicely the animals are treated because at the end of the day their milk is being stolen from their baby, and they'll be slaughtered once they're no longer useful?

"But these beekeepers take good care of their bees!" Did you cover your ears when I said I'm against exploitation of animals and I do not want people to steal their resources? How many times do I need to say that I don't care how nice their keepers are?

And you can apply this to any other part of the animal ag industry. I don't care about small/local animal farms. I do not care about your idea of the perfect farmer that is super niceys to the animals he will someday kill. I do not care for that and I never will. I'm still against animal exploitation. You didn't change my mind in the slightest

Yeah, they need to be milked because you continually make them pregnant so they lactate. It’s not as if they are plagued with being 24/7 milk producers like humans did to sheep and their wool. You are fully capable of leaving these animals be, and you choose not to because you want to profit off of them.

“Cows need to be milked” yeah, by their babies. That’s why they produce milk in the first place!
