Is there a tutorial somewhere that explains it in really simple terms about how to make a picrew? Because I think making one would be fun but I went to the website and it looks too fucking complicated
I'd suggest looking for it on YouTube

here's a few i found googling it, can't speak for their quality but the most popular one got deleted i think
STOLE THIS FROM TWITTER LOL BUT

the unfortunate truth about drawing scales is that they never really get less annoying to do and getting better at them only means you get to draw more complicated ones
the way they generally work for me is i tend to follow a pattern of larger, flatter scales following the tops of arms and leg surrounded by smaller, rounded support scales - i try to use a lighter touch on the pen pressure while filling in the scales so the outlines end up more distinctive
this works basically the same for the head!
for the longer stretches of body i tend to use the interlocking u’s, starting with one row on the widest part of the body and building downwards
copying and pasting isnt a perfect shortcut, especially if you have a lot of curves, but it DOES save a chunk of time
they dont have to be perfect!! honestly the hardest part is getting them to be even, and that just takes a lot of practice. remember that theyll fold in a bit as they get closer to the edge of the body if you can manage it ( which is hard ) - the closer the thinner, which helps give the illusion of curving. uhhh hope this helps
I made these as a way to compile all the geographical vocabulary that I thought was useful and interesting for writers. Some descriptors share categories, and some are simplified, but for the most part everything is in its proper place. Not all the words are as useable as others, and some might take tricky wording to pull off, but I hope these prove useful to all you writers out there!

Read more here:
"You are no longer licensed to use the software," Adobe told them.
Friendly reminder that GIMP does pretty much everything Photoshop does, and it’s 100% free. Fuck DRM and the license culture, we have plenty of open source options available to us as a consumer.
Lightworks is a freeware video editor on par with Premiere
Blender is an excellent freeware 3D renderer, possibly better than After Effects
Lightzone to replace Lightroom
Inkscape to replace Illustratr
Audacity to replace Audition (I also received a free version of Pro Tools with my Scarlett Solo audio interface)
If Adobe is going to be greedy shitheads, then fuck ‘em. Don’t use their stuff. Freeware can be just as good, if not better, than Adobe CC.
reblog to save a digital arts major
Reblog to save an artist.
oh jEEZ
I will keep saying this: GIMP sucks butts.
- Medibang Paint and Fire Alpaca for more cartoon style illustration
- Krita for painting
- Clip Studio Paint (not free, but often on sale and cheap even at full price) is better than PS for art and I’m about to cut adobe entirely. Even does some photo editing.
- Paint Tool SAI (again, not free but cheap) old but good, there’s a ton of hacked copies around too. Not hard to get for free.
- Open Tunez for animation.
I’m currently using Affinity Photo and it’s a great Photoshop alternative. One time fee only and it’s not really expensive, plus supports PSD formats. Free trial available too! Davinci Resolve for video editing is amazing as well! :)
If you’re an artist, describe your current art style as best you can in the tags (don’t say “bad :(” or “ugly :(” or anything similar)
and its free
yess this actually works! i use it all the time for applying psds, finding color hex codes, adding overlays/gif overlays to things, etc. it’s really easy to use, it just crashes occasionally.
hitch your heart to one small thing
reminds me of this!
I literally wrote a poem about Covid that began with the line “the year the world ended, I made tacos.”
If I tell you I work in food service, how much does that line tell you?
