Forgive me, my english gets worse on large posts im going to try form this the best i can..;;
I am going to say this very loudly to the Splatoon fandom in specific, as someone from Asia; colorism is very VERY rampant. And it is disgusting, I came from a part of Asia that is hot and naturally that people from there would have brown skin such as myself.. and yet? They say it's "dirty" if you have it even if they are brown themself, it is such a disheartening and unescapable thing of constant hate and gossip even when I am currently not in my home area right now as it still follows with those in our family circle.
It is so normalised and it is disgusting.
If you think anyone is sub-human just because they are a different skin-tone to you that is disgusting, I have never once in my life have had this kind of thought cross my mind and it never will.. some of you people are utterly gross and disrespectful about Frye & Marina and i don't understand why you would look at their ethnic features or skin-tone and think it needs "fixing".
Colorism is only a fraction of what Black people and other people of color go through with racism, please be better. You are not any better then those who are racist with their full hearts towards us Asians just because a darker skin tone bothers you, I have been called a dirty dog for being brown so much times...
Please stop with your excuses, Frye's forehead and features are not "weird" to look at, she is meant to represent South Asia culture, which made me so happy..
Marina's inconsistency in splatfest art as well as being from a Japanese IP doesn't mean she "isn't Black" when her design has direct inspirations (from my memory.. i could be wrong sorry..;;) from Black Artists.

I see a lot of people praise Asia yet ignore these issues.. seeing debates about Marina's skintone or that Frye should be 'fixed' because of her design drains me.

Retraction: We at Hikara Walker would like to apologize to Oxygen Tank and its fans for insinuating, due to insufficient research, that their origins lay in pirate radio. Unlicensed radio broadcasts, if set on frequencies close enough to licensed ones, can cause interference which screws with radio reception. This is prevalent in the Splatlands and has been known to disrupt Big Run early warning systems ā infamously resulting in the sacking of Inkblot Art Academy during March of last year. Rather, Oxygen Tank aired their first performances over the Ethernet radio channels of the Deep Sea Metro before spreading their reach topside. These transmissions were inadvertently picked up by underground Octarian domes via faulty electronic cables, resulting in repetitious illegal broadcasting therein. If the heavenly melody of the Inkantation sparked the downfall of a regime, then others, including Oxygen Tank's Ral-Hula-Loo (first rec. Museum d'Alfonsino), served to fan the fire by complete happenstance. (Reportedly it's rather embarrassing for them and they'd rather not talk about it. But that's journalism, baby ā eat our shorts.)
