i'm usually not a fan of love triangles. most of the time i'm just waiting for one person to leave the story.

but somehow, mr. ryder really kept me invested.

more than being a romantic rival, he becomes part of mary's journey. through him, she learns to question herself, to see the world differently and to grow beyond the lonely girl she believed she had to be.

a thing that i particularly love about the hunger games prequels is how it shows that people have been fighting against the games since their inception

when i was younger and read the original trilogy for the first time i was so bothered how it was 74 years of games, i remember thinking how could it have gone on so long without anyone doing anything

these prequels highlight that people have been fighting from the get-go: lucy gray's defiance, reaper ripping down panem's flags to cover the fallen tributes, haymitch's games and how many others shared his ideologies - the capitol just drowns them out, they rewrite their stories so their efforts are forgotten

liberation takes time and it's built upon the actions of those in the past

is it just me or are the bridgertons wearing more of a greenish tone of blue this season? farther from their pastel robin egg's blue and more aqua, turquoise-ey blue? much like we've see benedict wear, in the past seasons, a more greenish blue as compared to his brothers

i thought it was so cool so i scanned some of my own apple peels

u can make the bg transparent and use them like stickers or print them and use them irl! so fun

midnight sun meets fancy that🔅🌀

i was fooling around with pencil colours and alcohol markers and turns out they make a really cool plaid pattern (saying plaid only so people will recognise it, it is actually madras check and i hate how the british colonised india and gave our fabrics slightly suckier names and even more suckier quality)

yes so anyways i thought this bluish purpley madras check design was really cute

and the sun thingy is just the cap of soda bottle that i cut the sides of to make it flatter. and i made a swirl out of some wire i had and stuck it onto the metal cap with fabric glue. fabric glue works on everything.

yes so then i painted the whole thing with blue nailpolish and dry brushed some gold nail polish on top too to make it "rustic"

then i didnt have a ton of lace options (2 to be exact) so i used this white lace i had, cut it down the middle to make it thinner and painted it with nail polish too

scanned it with my printer, im obsessed with scanning stuff lately, the quality is so much better than any picture i could have ever taken. even. tho. ik that tumblr is gonna bring the quality way down, idc bcos atleast i get to enjoy the hd image 😊

denim envelope!~

this was a gift i made for my long distance friend, so its safe to say that it came out pretty durable, & i would hope so too, since this thing was as big as my hand and basically a thick wad of cardstock + leftover denim (and as always, fabric glue😻) ill be honest i didnt know if this thing would even open

i made a base envelope out of paper which was simple enough, and then just slapped the denim on there. for the purple peaking through in the front i made a plaid-ish pattern first using colour pencils and layered on top of it with a billion highlighters and it actually gave me a really cool super saturated water colour effect. of course that doesnt matter cos u cant see it underneath the lace, but hey, i'll know.

flower petal scan!

i put some rose petals in my tea and i was just OBSESSED with their colour! like the most vibrant pinks and purples and yellows. anyways, i attempted to try and scan something for the first time instead of my usual way of sticking them between some books. they lose their colour that way and the colour was the whole point yk. so, they're here and they're immortal and I'm living for these colours so here u go~

journal #3-on one side we have tito, he's my adorable little orange boy + some little fishies! its a mixed media piece with acrylic pens, fish net (?) the kind fruit is wrapped in, and a random bar code i transferred with tape :) he's being held together by love and a lot of fabric glue

& on the other side i made this handy little envelope that i can use to store little tidbits that i want to use for future entries!
