Tyger Tyger, burning bright / William Blake, The Tyger Hi. I’m starting a series of posters about animals threatened with extinction. The first one is the tiger. Once numbering in the tens of thousands, there are now around 5,700 tigers left in the wild. Despite the recovery of some populations, tigers continue to face habitat loss, poaching, and conflict with humans. I wanted to start with an animal that feels eternal and almost mythical, yet is becoming increasingly rare.

King Lear.

The three candles represent King Lear’s three daughters: Goneril (1), Regan (2), and Cordelia (3). Each candle is inscribed with the words spoken to their father.

At the beginning of the play, Lear asks his daughters to declare their love for him before deciding how to divide his kingdom among them. The two elder daughters overwhelm him with extravagant flattery. Goneril proclaims, “More than words can wield the matter.” Regan, trying to surpass her sister’s declaration, replies, “Only she comes too short.” The youngest daughter, Cordelia, simply answers, “According to my bond; no more nor less.” Lear mistakes her honesty for a lack of love and disowns her. From that single decision, the tragedy unfolds.

I had a dream. There was a window with a soft summer breeze coming through it. Nearby, a handkerchief was nailed to the wall. For a week, I had been thinking about how to represent Shakespeare’s “Othello” in a poster. I didn’t want to rely on familiar clichés of jealousy, conflict, passion, and so on.

So, here it is: Desdemona’s handkerchief — a seemingly insignificant object, accidentally lost, from which a tragic chain of events began.

The crime was to exist.

Between essence and existence, guilt already breathes.

Who was that? A friend? A good person? Somebody who was taking part? Somebody who wanted to help? Was he alone? Was it everyone? Would anyone help? Were there objections that had been forgotten? There must have been some. The logic cannot be refuted, but someone who wants to live will not resist it. Where was the judge he'd never seen? Where was the high court he had never reached? He raised both hands and spread out all his fingers. But the hands of one of the gentlemen were laid on K.'s throat, while the other pushed the knife deep into his heart and twisted it there, twice. As his eyesight failed, K. saw the two gentlemen cheek by cheek, close in front of his face, watching the result. “Like a dog!” he said. It was as if the shame of it should outlive him.

typeface Bau

Continuing the work on my typeface — bau, a modular grid-based alphabet inspired by the structural clarity of the Bauhaus. Each letter is constructed within a strict square system — limiting expression to geometry, yet revealing rhythm through form.

This is not a decorative font. It’s a study in structure, in constraint, in balance. Where every shape follows a logic, but keeps its own identity.

Built on the principle: less, but better.
