#will never forget how last year the only black character on video game top 100 ships was ekko #and then he happened to be one of the few explicitly black characters on the general top 100 ao3 ships list #like. I looked at that list and thought about so many things.#and then I also thought about the fact that some people say interracial relationships are overused in media...#like... bitch... they're clearly not used enough to shift the narrative in both real life and fan communities.#and they're oftentimes not a focus of the narrative. even the aforementioned relationship ekko is an active member of is a SIDE couple.#then there's a giant issue with f/f having SO few works that top 100 f/f list will surely have canon romance & explicit incest side to side.#then there's also an issue with the current most popular f/f couple being a pair of two literal cops who gassed the streets.#we need better sapphic representation. a complex one. possibly toxic. good written. with a creative spark. but surely not the fucking cops.
