DID, schizophrenia, and other disorders with dissociative or psychotic symptoms are not and should not be considered āscaryā by people who do not have them.

I made a thing
I propose, a new schizospectrum
Reblog with a white shape drawn on here that point to these symptoms. The closer the line to the edge, the more the symptom affects you. It's like a game, and we can see how diverse the range is. Anyone with a disorder starting in "schizo" is welcome to participate, self diagnosed people are welcome as well.
For my followers who are unable to see the photo, the list is
Psychosis
Weird speech
Negative symptoms
Other disorders
Paranoia
Not being able to make friends
Mood symptoms
Disorganization
If you're using the list, I suggest participating by rating on a scale of 1-10. 1 being "doesn't affect me" and 10 being "I can't imagine it affecting me more"
Have fun y'all.
cool idea op!!
Mine looks like I'm giving someone the finger....
It looks kinda weird but Iām not good at using my fingers to draw

negative symptoms - 7
other disorders - 4
paranoia - 6
not being able to make friends - 2 (just cant make good/close friends)
mood symptoms - 8
disorganization - 7
So much love for mentally ill people who ālook mentally illā. The ND people who wear oversized or dirty clothes, who have visible scars, with disorganized speech, who talk to themselves, who wear dirty clothes or donāt shower. You arenāt wrong for fitting a stereotype thereās nothing wrong with showing your symptoms and I wish you the best of luck in recovery
i am disabled! i am not "differently abled"! i am not "specially abled"! I AM DISABLED!
DISABLED IS NOT A DIRTY WORD!
(abled people can rb just don't say shit!)
literally i am so sick of people acting like traumatised individuals are fucking stupid or something. like yes we can think for ourselves and make assumptions, ESPECIALLY w our triggers oh my god. if we tell you our trigger is a red solo cup yall will instantly start talking about a blue solo cup. if we say our trigger is the name "claire" yall will start talking about someone named "cl*ire". if we say our trigger is the word "melancholy" then yall will go to describe the word in depth, use every single fucking synonym in the god damn BOOK and skirt around it just because you wanna fake being a good ally and i am so fucking sick of it. if we say "hey i cant see this thing and anything related to it because i have horrible trauma related to it" DONT FUCKING TALK ABOUT IT. dont talk about anything related to it. dont fucking test our limits and see what you can get away with. yall are so fucking worried about being seen as a "good ally" to your peers instead of actually helping people with ptsd that you will literally trigger us just because youre so fucking concerned with your own self gain
actually i changed my mind you can rb this but dont be fucking stupid on this post
also this applies to people with ptsd too. dont think you get off the hook intentionally triggering people just because youre traumatised too. it goes both ways

autistic self diagnosis is valid
a person: iām autistic. i donāt have a professional diagnosis.
a neurotypical: you canāt! self diagnose! autism!!! onLy a dOctor can do that!!!
most doctors: donāt know what autism looks like in people other than nonverbal white cis boys
most doctors: recommend abusive therapies for autistic kids and teens
most doctors who specialize in diagnosing autism: refuse to evaluate adults
an autism evaluation for a minor teen who wants one: requires having supportive parents who understand that autism is not a tragedy and looks different for every autistic person, and that many autistic people can talk, have friends, do okay in school, and otherwise fake looking neurotypical
an autism evaluation for an adult: very expensive and often not covered by insurance in the U.S., also extremely difficult to get in France
an on-record autism diagnosis: can be used to deny you custody of children, to have your kids taken away, to forcibly institutionalize you
autism advocacy orgs that actually help autistic ppl like ASAN, AWN, AANE: Here are some resources for figuring out if you could be autistic. Professional diagnosis is a very personal decision and is not required for knowing that youāre one of us. We support you as an autistic person even if you donāt have a paper diagnosis.
a sincere autism self diagnosis: harms no one even if itās incorrect, enables the person to feel part of a community of people with similar issues and learn more about autism, a gateway to learning about autism acceptance movements, often the first step toward self acceptance and self esteem
I always see ātake your meds!ā reminders but Iāve never seen one for medical equipment so here!

Something people donāt understand about child abuse
One of the things that I really hate is that people donāt understand that survivors act differently and respond to their traumas in different ways.
Iām a survivor of csa and so is my friend. Her trauma made her extremely hypersexual while I could literally cry if someone even touched me.
My bf is a survivor of csa, I can talk for hours about my trauma if I felt safe enough while he NEVER brings it up.
A friend of mine is a survivor of emotional abuse and so am I. Her trauma made her angry while mine made me soft and defenseless.
My bf remembers every little detail about his trauma, while I repressed most of my childhood and traumas.
Thereās no special ācriteriaā that you should fill in order to be a āvalidā survivor, and thereās no specific way you should act if you were abused.
People respond to their traumas differently and itās okay, your abuse is STILL valid no matter how you respond to it.
anyone else ever wakes up and doesn't know where or who you are
I think people w/o diabetes donāt understand how fucking dangerous of a disease it is. Like whether you have type 1 or 2 (or any other) itās a v harmful and debilitating illness that can kill you v quickly if youāre not careful. I say this bc there are so many people who donāt think much of it, and can indirectly harm those who have it.
When I was working, i got in trouble for wearing my insulin pump bc it looked āunprofessionalā. Iād calmly explain that taking it off could endanger my life and unless they wanted a scene where Iām hauled off on an ambulance and then a subsequent lawsuit, they better let me wear it. Another time I got in trouble bc it started beeping in front of a customer. I was asked to take my blood sugars only on my breaks, even though my doctor said I needed to take it every 3 hrs. I only got 1 half hour break 4 hrs into my shift, and 1 15 min break 6 hrs into my shift. And even when I brought in a dr note explaining why it was so important, Iād still get dirty looks from my bosses and asked to do it in the fucking pantry (since we didnāt have a break room). Like, I had to sit on a dirty ass stool in a cramped space, they wouldnāt let me use a booth. the compassion was non existent.
It may not look as dangerous or debilitating as an illness like cancer, but it is. When I experience low blood sugars, I exhibit symptoms that are scary as hell. My speech comes out slurred, and I get very sleepy/fatigued. My hands shake until I physically cannot hold onto anything, and my cognitive function becomes nonexistent. In fact, if someone is not there with me when I experience it, it can become 2x deadlier bc I donāt have any help.
Just, please recognize that diabetes is very real and serious and scary. ask ur diabetic friends/family how you can help them bc I can guarantee you there is something you can do thatāll make things easier. *For example, ask them where they keep their emergency sugar stashes, or their glucagon pen (and learn when and how to use it!). Find out ahead of time what they need you to do when they experience a high or low blood sugar. Remind them to take their meds or blood sugars when needed. Just be there for them and defend them against people who are ignorant.
*note: depending on the type of diabetes, their needs may differ. Iām going off of what I experience/need as a type 2 diabetic, and even then different people may need different things. Just ask.
Ppl w/o diabetes can nd should reblog, but donāt derail this post unless you have it.
