wednesday, october 12th, 2022 | my class this morning was cancelled, so now I get more time to get things done today! my plan is to do some practice questions for my upcoming embedded systems midterm and then work on an assignment that’s due friday. I hope everyone has been having a wonderful week!
"Do I deserve this?" "Am I worthy of this?"
So irrelevant. Do you want it?
a lot of you have asked how I actually use notion in my day to day life, so I’ve broken down my task manager for all of you! hope this helps :) happy notion-ing! 💖
my other posts on notion: goal setting 📚
edit: i’ve made my template available for everyone to duplicate here! happy notion-ing!

How to Finish
I drew this poster for Jon Acuff and his FINISH book tour. Big thanks to Jon for this collaboration, his book has some great ideas about how to complete creative and life goals.
Love this, but reblogging it specifically for “Get rid of secret rules.” That’s one of the most amazing illustrations—and points—I’ve ever seen.
so important especially for perfectionists who procrastinate and never finish, or even start because they set such high standards for themselves.
Hello! I hope that you're doing well :)
I would like to ask you several questions:
1. What would you do if you fell behind in your studies real bad and messed up a little with your assignments.
2. Do you ever have hard times on concentrating in your studies. Even a little reading. Do you have a advise on this?
3. How do you make a study schedule as a grad student? I feel like I just can't and even when I try it doesn't work and I feel so disappointed. Sometimes I start for it but then obsticles happen. I also feel like I can't spend my study time effectively. I spend a lot of time but in the end I feel like I did nothing.
hello, lovely anon! i'm hanging in there. i was gone for a couple weeks because my mind wasn’t in the right place :( i’m okay now, though! i hope you’re also doing well~
1. understand and accept that this is your reality. you can't go back in time to change what happened, as much as you wish you could. go through your assignments and figure out what went wrong. review your notes and readings to refresh your memory and understand the correct answers. contact your professors and classmates and ask them for help if you need to. here is a really helpful video about catching up with school work when you’ve fallen behind!
2. yes, absolutely. you’re not alone! here is a really great post by sophie @myhoneststudyblr about how to improve your concentration. :)
3. i can’t tell you how exactly to make a study schedule since there are so many ways to make one, but i think it’s important to have a good understanding of your habits and how you usually go about your daily life. this includes when you wake up, when you eat, when you prefer to study and get work done, and when you sleep, among other things. pay attention to the timing of when you do certain tasks, as well as your energy levels throughout the day. you may be more productive at certain times, and less productive at others. create your schedule to accommodate yourself as best as possible. make it approachable and comfortable for YOU.
you may want to complete several tasks in one day, but that may not be very realistic. instead, you can reduce the amount of tasks and focus on the more important ones. this puts less pressure on yourself and makes your schedule more approachable. you can also break down big tasks into smaller ones. if you have the time and energy to do more tasks, add them to your schedule. if not, save them for another day, especially if they’re not urgent. also, be sure to set aside time to take care of yourself!
you’re right that obstacles come up. things don’t always go according to plan. while it’s good to have structure for your day, it’s also good to be a bit flexible. leave some room for unexpected things that may happen, and be prepared to make adjustments throughout the day as needed. as the video above mentions, you can have a catch-up system in place that helps and works well for you.
if your mind is not in the right place and/or you don’t have much energy, adjust your schedule to where you’re currently at. you can still get some things done even if you don’t feel 100% okay. for example, instead of studying for one hour straight, you can study in four 15-minute blocks that are spread out throughout the day. instead of cleaning your entire room, focus on cleaning just one area. reward yourself with something you like when you’re done. small/slow progress is still progress! again, put less pressure on yourself and make your schedule approachable and comfortable for YOU.
i hope this helps, and good luck! you can find more tips, advice, and resources in my reference tag and my grad school tag. 💕✨
i look forward to these witching hours.
At one point, I had this era on Pinterest where I would save a lot of those study inspo photos captioned with something like “It’s 3 am, people are sleeping while I’m getting ahead of them”, basically shit like that. I just remember there were a lot of posts like those with similar captions revolving around studying till morning. Yes, being studious is great and all but YOU NEED SLEEP TO FUNCTION. So that era of mine on Pinterest basically reminded me to remind you guys that please don’t treat sleep deprivation as a competition. Now I know it feels like it’s almost impossible to even get 6 or 7 hours of sleep but when you can PLEASE GO SLEEP AND REST. Your brain needs it! When you feel like you’ve studied and covered everything you need to know but it’s still early, PLEASE GO REST! Do not punish yourself by studying more just because you feel like you shouldn’t finish early studying that just means you’re already familiar with the material.
Muletillas (Filler Words in Spanish)
1. BUENO/PUES = well and it is used the same way
Example: “Bueno, no te preocupes, yo lo haré.” = “Well, don’t worry, I can do that.”
2. MIRA = look/look here
Example: “Mira, si tu quieres hacerlo está bien, sólo digo que a mí no me parece una buena idea.” = “Look, if you want to do that it’s ok, I’m just saying that I don’t think that it is a good idea.”
3. ESTE = um/ah, there is no “real” translation of it, but you can use it anytime and with a large “e” like esteee
Example: “No sé, este, a mí no me convence lo que dice ella.” – “I don’t know, um, I’m not convinced by what she’s saying.”
4. VISTE (just in Argentinean Spanish!)= you see/wasn’t it
Example: “Creo que no me fue bien en el examen. – Sí, era muy difícil, ¿viste?” = “I don’t think I did well the exam. – Yes, it was really difficult, wasn’t it?”
5. O SEA = I mean, this one is the most useful fillers in American Spanish and everyone uses it at least once whilst speaking.
Example: “”Estoy muy ocupada, o sea, no me llames porque no te voy a atender” = “I’m very busy, I mean, don’t call me because I wouldn’t pick up.”
6. DE HECHO = actually
Example: “De hecho, nunca vi esta película pero dicen que es digna ser vista.” = “Actually, I’ve never seen that movie, but they say it is worth it.”
7. TIPO/COMO = like
Example: “¿Y qué estilo es esa música? – No sé exactamente, es tipo/como música electrónica mezclada con tango…” = “What kind of music is that? – I’m not sure, it’s like electronic music mixed with tango…”
8. A VER = let’s see
Example: “A ver, intento explicártelo de otra manera.”= “Let’s see, I’m gonna try to explain it to you in a different way.”
9. ESTÁ BIEN/DALE (just in Argentinean Spanish!) = okay, a synonym of Spanish in Spain is “vale”
Example: “Mañana te llamo, ¿dale? – ¡Dale!/Está bien.” = “I give you a call tomorrow, okay? – Okay!”
10. CHE (just in Argentinean Spanish!) = Hey!
Example: “¿Che, de que estás hablando? No entiendo nada.” – “Hey, what the hell are you talking about? I don’t understand a word.”

Week 31
Absolutely obsessed with my new Venice spread and also really liking this whole “write in between the lines” thing cause sending your g’s below the line is so overrated
Hello! I have been wondering... do you have a least favourite creature? One that, if life were a comic book, would be your arch-nemesis.

Bookstore in LA
girls who log on to this website at like 6am and blog about the woes of having a job are the bravest they deserve six days off every week so they can lie in bed and read
sometimes you just gotta read something and say “i literally don’t care” aloud and move on
This is an incredibly valuable skill. I've noticed an increase in my personal happiness by doing this.
