I wondered what that was like, to hold someone’s hand. I bet you could sometimes find all of the mysteries of the universe in someone’s hand.

Perfectionism is the belief that something is broken - you. So you dress up your brokenness with degrees, achievements, accolades, pieces of paper, none of which can fix what you think you are fixing.

I'm so thankful I didn't end up with what I thought I wanted
you are not just you
you are a collection of the stories you've read and the night skies you've admired. you are the smiles you've given to strangers and the tears you've lost on your pillows. you are the lives you've touched. you are a mixture of cosmic stardust and earth. you are a descendent of nomads and sailors. you are the flowers you've received and the plants you've watered. you are the adventures you've had and will have. you are your imagination and anticipation. you are not simple. you are a complex yet magnificent product of the life you have lived so far.

Book Review - The Choice, Edith Eger
Straight up, no BS, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Edith Eger who is a Holocaust survivor writes about her journey through the concentration camp of Auschwitz during World War 2 to becoming an eminent psychologist. The book not only centers around her life and the many lessons that she has learned from her experiences but also the lives of her patients and how she helps them through their own lives. I liked the psychological take on the book towards hardships and our ability to ultimately rise above it, no matter how minute or big it can be.
“the willingness to take absolute responsibility for your life; the willingness to risk; the willingness to release yourself from judgment and reclaim your innocence, accepting and loving yourself for who you really are—human, imperfect, and whole.”
Edith Eger, The Choice
It’s the first time I see that we have a choice: to pay attention to what we’ve lost or to pay attention to what we still have

Your ability to remain soft is not a weakness. Don’t let life harden your soul. There is strength and bravery in vulnerability.
