you know what else she said?
Shouichi eyed Spanner’s movements warily, as though expecting the toaster to suddenly burst into flames as soon as Spanner moved over there. “And what would be a perfectly good, reasonable reason for not wanting to get married, then?”
“Well, you’re dying, for one.” Spanner stated, ignoring the way the toaster began to spark as he moved over to the fridge again, wondering what to do with the bacon that lay limply by the carton of milk. He took it out, holding it out for Irie to take. He didn’t trust himself to cook food. Candy, yes; but food, no.
"So, I’d have to be dying," Shouichi said flatly as he took the bacon from Spanner before turning the stove on and fetching a frying pan. “Give me some eggs while you’re there, too," Shouichi called as he took out a separate frying pan for the eggs. Scrambled eggs and bacons sounded decent enough.
"Mmhm... but you aren't. So you can get married to me." Spanner said easily, unwilling to let up as he took out some eggs from the fridge, making a move to toss them to Irie. (He completely forgot about the consequences of said action: egg bits all over the place, and the house smelling like rotten eggs because he'd be too lazy to clean up.)
