[…]Winter Soldier is this crazy, dark, RoboCop-type figure who is somewhat human but mechanised, completely messed up. Slightly human but completely tortured and completely manipulated, but crucially mechanised. So I said you know what, I’m gonna do something completely crazy and dark for the Winter Soldier, and I’m just gonna go for it. I hadn’t worked with these directors before, and away from picture I just wrote a suite for the Winter Soldier that was about six or seven minutes long that I spent ages on and treated it like a record. The idea being that if I get this vibe right, if I nail this six or seven minute thing which I think is the essence of the character and it’s super radical and it’s not that traditional and not completely orchestral because I want to save some of that for Captain America, let’s just see what these guys say. I played it for them really loud, and after they were finished there was a bit of a silence, and then Joe [Russo] went “I love it! Awesome!”

This is kinda old news to most people but I’ve seen posts about her again and it needs to be said: take Chimamanda Adichie off your book recs and reading lists. Take her off everything. She is a full blown terf. She’s just as transmisogynist as J.K R*wling and triple as harmful to Black trans people. She doesn’t deserve being defended or exempted from criticism just because she is a Nigerian woman. (Trans Nigerians exist btw.)

Chimamanda Adichie has publicly defended R*wling’s transmisogyny, in an interview said that trans women aren’t women they are “trans women” and wrote a disgusting transmisogynist essay in which she accuses two of her former LGBT+ & non-binary Nigerian students of being “manipulative, calculating and insincere” and “seeking attention and publicity to benefit themselves.” The essay is vile, and I’m not linking to it, but it’s easy to google if you want the source.

I’ve added this note before but I don’t put aside “sexual connotations”. If you happen to find out someone’s into a “weird” sex thing or something you think is a weird sex thing (which happens a lot to furries who are immediately assumed to have a fetish for it), it’s still not okay to make fun of them for being “weird”. I wouldn’t feel the need to make these comments but A. people on tumblr are really on that puritan shit lately and B. there is very much a cultural problem of infantilizing autistic people and acting like the idea of an autistic person having a sex life is wrong and inappropriate.

Yeah, I don’t know if there are stats on autism (given how infantilised it is, I doubt it), but people with ADHD do seem to have more interest in kink than neurotypical people, so “sexual connotations” are absolutely part of this discussion.
