writing fantasy is so fun because it starts as an escape from the dramas of real life and you build a bunch of little colorful creatures and environments, and then they develop into all these little guys with backstories and adventures that begin to speak to one another, and then they begin to feel real and have conflict and alliances and love stories...

and then you realize they are all just metaphors for real life and you are writing about real life and now it's all still about politics and religion and racism and why your dad was so good at teaching you morals but then seemingly refused to practice them himself and why was that and yayyyyyy
