I can’t believe Juhaku week is already almost over 😭😭 I’ve only managed to start one fic so far, and it’s not even finished yet. I was planning to write for all the prompts but I’ve been so busy lately and the writer’s block is really not helping at all ☹️
Personally, I think in established Janka Zanka is such a “yes dear” kinda guy but can’t admit it for shit. Jabber will be sitting, fiddling with something right beside the fridge, and still ask Zanka for a drink, and Zanka will get up to get it for him, but it’s a production. He will go to the fridge, open it for him, and pour it into a glass, literally all the nice little steps but he will be making sure he is slamming things at every possible chance and saying shit like “Your such a lazy asshole, your sitting right over there beside the damn fridge but no I gotta walk and get you shit cause you can’t get off your damn ass…” like he’s WHIPPED, you don’t end up in a relationship with someone like Jabber unless you are that’s just the rules.
the amount of people picturing jabber as dominant is mesmerizing to me. like are we looking at the same guy? the one who said I want to fight with all my might until I'm bloody and bruised and still lose no matter how hard I try? that one?
About Jabber supposedly not having a sad backstory, I won’t say much for now. It might just be that Urana doesn’t want to reveal anything yet because of spoilers, though ngl it does lower my expectations a little 😞 but if it’s really true, I won’t be too upset about it as long as we still get his backstory or at least a Jabber-focused arc.
I'm honestly shocked by how many people genuinely think a creator of a project will reveal all future story beats and plot points in a QnA or livestream.
Like if its someone asking if "X likes cheesecake?," and the creator says yes, then of course, I will believe the character likes cheesecake, but asking about a characters backstory and expecting to get spoiled by the creator themselves is kinda insane too me.
Yup that’s exactly what i thought too. Like, do people really think an author would just spoil their own work like that? She could also change her mind midway so let’s just stay calm for now.

Just saw someone say they don’t want to read Mirror because it’s always described as peak and they’re afraid they won’t like it. Like… okay? Why not just read it and decide for yourself?
Sometimes it feels like ppl are so used to staying in the same bubble that they’re scared of having a different opinion. Maybe try having your own taste instead of liking things just because everyone else does.

sorry, can I ask you about Judal? In the thread there's written he once asked Hakuryuu to give him one of his brothers/sister, but I don't get what it means. Did Judal ask for the older brothers or Hakuei?

Judar says that he cannot imagine it (having siblings), but Hakuryuu comments that a long time ago he asked Hakuryuu to give him one of his siblings - in other words, that he did want one and was probably envious that Hakuryuu had so many. While that was a long time ago, I get the feeling that this is just Judar being “I don’t need anyone!!”, but actually feeling lonely.
It gives me a similar vibe to the squid omake, to be honest.

Do you know, something I've noticed about Zanka's fighting style in both the anime and the manga is that he fights very defensively. He lets the other party attack first, holds his ground, and executes strong guards while he waits for them to slip up and make a mistake he can capitalize on. Or (in the case of the mud puppet fight, which he made look easy) until he spots a critical weakness and gathers the information he needs to execute a decisive blow.
This works very well for trash beasts, because they are not very intelligent, and for most combatants, because they'll tire or get sloppy long before Zanka's endurance gives out. His style relies on being able to weather an offense and take the hits until he ends you in one strike. This is why I think he's very strong and sturdy. He needs the weight and the command over his center of gravity to hold steady, and he needs a lot of power in his limbs and core to smash the living daylights out of his target with Lovely Assistaff.
Unfortunately for those two, Jabber is a lighting-fast assassin type who is--to put it bluntly--ABSOLUTELY FUCKING BUSTED. Like, are you kidding me? This asshole touches you one time and you're done. No wonder he can't find anybody to play with. Mankira is the perfect counter to Zanka's style, because he can't take a hit from her--he has to pull off a long chain of precise parries and dodges just to stay in the fight, and then he has to somehow find an opening through Jabber's blinding speed and hair-trigger reflexes to land a powerful but relatively slow hit.
And Jabber doesn't even have the decency to balance out his nuclear speed advantage by being a glass cannon. He is both fast and durable, meaning in order to win, Zanka either has to pull off one incredibly powerful and totally disabling hit, or he has to pull off a chain of powerful hits, AFTER WHICH he will be forced to weather whatever Jabber's screaming, insensate body will apparently just try to do all on its own. It remains one of the funniest things to me about Jabber Wonger that evidently he just fucking does that when he's unconscious. My sweet princess, what the hell is wrong with you.
But anyway, in order to win a fight against Jabber, Zanka has to dodge every little slice, avoid even the tiniest scrape, and then somehow beat the shit out of him so hard that, even if he uses his numbing agent, he is still physically unable to move. And for Zanka's current fighting style, that's quite the tall order! Jabber is one of the likely few opponents around who can actually wear him down faster than he can catch them out, and Jabber can do it with ease, too.
Therefore, I think, for the fight where Zanka finally gets his win--and I do believe the story is heading in that direction--we'll see him develop a more offensive style. He can't keep letting Jabber put him on the back foot and pin him there. If he's trying to pull off a chain of perfect guards against Jabber, he's losing. If he's going to win, he needs some way to keep Jabber overwhelmed and trying to adjust to what he's doing. He needs to unleash his rage, embrace his mean streak, and GO.
Currently, I haven't the faintest clue what specific tactic(s) would give Zanka the upper hand. But I do think there is more for him to learn about himself and his bond with Lovely Assistaff. If you have any ideas, I want to know!

It really breaks my heart that war keeps happening during the holy month of Ramadhan, a time that’s supposed to be filled with peace and blessings. With everything going on, it’s honestly been hard for me to enjoy fandom content, esp when so many people are going through such hardships. I truly hope everyone in West Asia stays safe, and I pray things can get better soon.
