After the last Great Migration, the cephalopod children currently growing up on land know next to nothing about their history. All Inkling kids know how to do is buy clothes, turf war, kill salmons, listen music, argue abt which Judd is better, eat Seanwich and lie. The most down-to-earth ones are those few who evolved from asocial, deep-dwelling squid species, that feel like they don't fit into this hyper-sensory world of indecipherable social cues. But even these outliers have only ever known the colors and sounds of Inkopolis, and trust that the world is fundamentally good.

But things are starting to change. Weird-looking teens are starting to take to the streets, bringing wary looks, strange accents, and edgy subculture. They keep to the shadows and lash out for seemingly no reason, and while they can all recalibrate an E-Liter 4K Scope, none of them even know who the Squid Sisters are.

But the weirdest thing about them is that they don't trust.

Some Salmon Runs might be able to fix that one, though.
