headcanons below the cut!
-this au is pretty much how to train your dragon without vikings
-viktor basically became famous around the globe for doing cool things (aka saving the world) with his dragon. yuuri (obvs) looks up to him a lot and aspires to be like him
-yuuri’s family runs a bath house for both dragons and humans. during the day yuuri works for the bath house but at night he does favors for the humans and dragons of japan
-viktor has a dragon named makkachin. she’s a russian dragon and she breathes ice/frost bc viktor is still ice king even in this au
-yuuri’s dragon (vicchan bc of course) is a typical japanese dragon (and yes, he does have limbs) that controls lightning
-they meet at some sort of convention. since vicchan lives in this au we’re gonna say that yuuri did something to embarrass himself (probably got tangled in vicchan and tripped and broke his glasses in front of viktor) and decides right there that he doesn’t deserve to be next to viktor bc anxiety
-(viktor thinks it’s cute, but don’t tell yakov he thought that)
-yuuri somehow manages to drink a little too much and starts dancing with viktor (vicchan is asleep in yuuri’s room. he’s a good boi but he’s tired, ok?) then yuuri hugs viktor and says “we should travel the world together, viktor! *hic* BE MY PARTNER, VIKTOR!!” and then viktor starts falling
-poor yuuri gets back to yuutopia and doesn’t remember a thing. he looks a vicchan but vicchan was asleep so he doesn’t know anything either. so he restarts his quiet life in the onsen, thinking that his lasting impression on viktor was tripping on his own dragon and smashing his glasses
-he somehow makes the news when he helps the japanese govt with something (historically inaccurate, but bear with me) and viktor notices and goes !!! there’s the boi of my dreams that seduced me and disappeared! this has to be a sign! so he literally flies to japan. how long did it take him? idk. poor makka
-but he appears in the onsen and waits in one of the hot springs for yuuri with makka. then he does the naked ‘yuuri!!!!! starting today, i’ll be your partner!!!!’ and gives both yuuri and vicchan a heart attack
-and then the rest is history
