It was always fun going on little late-night adventures with peter, when he wasnโt on patrol of course.ย
I was stuffing a backpack with the necessities for a little bit of star-gazing, a blanket, some fake tea light candles, and some snacks because weโre usually there for hours. Not long after I finally stuffed the last of the blanket in the bag, I heard a soft tap at the window, which used to startle me but Iโve grown used to, with it being a daily, almost hourly occurrence. I turned to the brown-haired boy smiling, before slinging the bag over my shoulders and opening the window.
โyou all ready to go?โ he asked, quickly scanning around my room behind me, to make sure I hadnโt left something like a rogue capri sun on the bed.ย
โYesss,โ I strung along, just to make a quick mental scan of everything I had put in the bag, โgood to go.โ I continued before holding my hand out for peter to lift me out the window. he swung me onto his back before I wrapped my arms tight around his waist, he made sure to check I was holding tight enough before slinging a web to a building across the street.ย
I loved the late-night โswingsโ the most because it always feels the most relaxing, the somewhat quiet and I say that lightly sound of the city at night, the cool air blowing against my face mixed with the warmth of the boy I was strapped to, itโs just one of those moments you feel like time is standing still.
After peter got us onto the top of another apartment building a few streets over, I hopped off his back and dropped the backpack to the ground, gathering the essentials from the bag, and quickly setting them up. While I was placing the fake candles around the blanket I felt peterโs eyes almost burning into the side of my face as I shot him a glance with a soft smile.
โYou look really beautiful in the moonlight, you know that?โ he spoke with a slight blush already growing across his cheeks. My smile grew bigger as I stood up to put my arms around his neck, his around my waist, giving him a soft peck.
โYouโre too sweetโ I smiled, before cupping his cheek and stroking it with my thumb. We stood there for a few minutes just exchanging soft kisses under the moonlight, admiring the other who stood before us. I slithered my hand into his, turning and walking him over to our blanket, before sitting down & laying on our backs, moving close to cuddle into each other. I was staring up at the sky above me, my mind wandering off about how big our galaxy is and other existential space stuff. We sat in silence for a while just enjoying each others company before I decided to break the peaceful silence,
โThe moon is so beautiful tonight,โ I turned my head to look into peters warm brown eyes โwhen I was younger I used to think it was blueโ I laughed while he smiled down at me putting his arm around my shoulder interlocking our fingers.
โSpeaking of moons, did you know that mercury and venus are the only planets in our solar system that have none?โ he looked to me for a response and I could see a gleam of excitement in his eyes. Peter loves talking about space, especially about how he had actually BEEN to space with the avengers, multiple times, but every time I sit and listen like itโs the first, because itโs so cute when he gets excited talking about things he loves.
