BTSV QUESTION

okay! im sure most of you have seen the new btsv images (im still recovering) and im curious to see what you all think!

when I saw this, I had an couple ideas of what this might be!

this could be a flashback from miles 1610! he could be having this memory when trying to figure out how he can save his dad. it reminded me a lot of this scene in itsv:

they both are wearing the same outfit and there are a couple cars in the frame, so it could be the same setting.

OR this could be a flashback from miles 42’s perspective from before his dad died and he became the prowler.

OR, if lord and miller are evil, miles’ “canon event” ASM-90 DOES happen and this is from a montage of memories that miles has. i really hope this isn’t the case, but it could loop into a major developing point in miles’ chapter and be used to push the plot forward. what a grim way to end miles’ story though.

A Love Letter to Part Ones

I'm a little late to the game on this one, but I'd like to contribute to the ongoing conversation about Across the Spider-Verse being Part-One.

We are around a year and a half away from BTSV, and it makes me wonder, would there still be this much discussion about Spider-Verse if Miles' story had ended back in 2023? I mean sure, there's always going to be conversation about it, but let's admit it to ourselves: after ATSV came out, the internet was practically BLOWING UP with people's own takes on how BTSV would go. I think that is amazing. Across the Spider-Verse being a part one movie opened up a whole community of fans who got to write their own takes on what might happen next. We had the chance to take the story, and make it our own.

I'm sure that after June 2027, I'm going to look back and miss this period of time; when everything was just speculation and the possibilities of what was going to happen to the spider-team were endless.

So yes, you can hate on Across the Spider-Verse being "half a movie" or make be pissed off that we left off on a cliff-hanger, but we all know you are going to buy tickets to BTSV next year anyway 😜

most of the people i know in person have no idea exactly HOW hyper fixated i am on the spider-verse movies. I LOVE THESE MOVIES SO MUCH. my whole day could be made just from watching one of the movies.

i was mulling over why these movies have put me into such an eternal chokehold (apart from the obvious reason: that they are AMAZING movies). and what i realized was that these movies, or more specifically Across the Spider-Verse, are basically just me in movie form. does that make sense? LOL.

the movie gravitates toward stunning and bold visuals, its soul comprises a beautiful score/soundtrack that makes you feel emotional and empowered, and it tells a story about family, community, believing in yourself, and not letting anyone define you or your story.

when i watch ATSV, i feel seen. i see a movie that almost feels as if it was made FOR me. i know a handful of you don't need to hear another person gushing over spider-verse for the 100th time, but i couldn't help but write about this.

and if you were ever interested in learning more about me personally, then simply loving the spider-verse franchise would tell you a lot about me and the things i am passionate about :)

Gwen and Aunt May!

I was rewatching Into the Spider-Verse for the 1610th 😉 time (as one does), and I realized that this detail completely went over my head in Across the Spider-Verse as well.

Does Aunt May know that Gwen is Spider-Woman?

When I watched ITSV the first 1609 times, I had always assumed that they visited Aunt May to fix the goober because it was Peter B. Parker's idea. Made sense; she is his aunt and mother figure. But when I was rewatching the bus scene with Miles and Gwen, I realized that Gwen says...

So it was more likely her idea to go to Aunt May first.

But THEN I realized another hint that Aunt May and Gwen were in cahoots. I had always thought about the scene in ATSV when Aunt May shuts down Captain Stacy's Spider-Woman slander as avoiding another "politics" debate. But now the "Thank you, May" comment and Aunt May's wink seem to be a little deeper than that. Peter was watching them, so that could be how he started to figure out Gwen was Spider-Woman as well.

It certainly does raise the question of where the heck Aunt May is after E-65 Peter's death when Captain Stacy leads the hunt for Spider-Woman. Or did Aunt May blame her after Peter's death, too? Ouch. Even worse.

It seems to be a little too in-depth and irrelevant for the amount of detail we can get into in the span of a few movies, but it is an interesting thought.

this is lowk embarrassing, but i think im starving for spider-verse crumbs so bad. i literally had a dream that btsv AND a spider-verse short film (like the spider within) came out. i was having a field day in my dream.

and i literally woke up smiling. im dead because i can’t remember the last time i woke up smiling from a dream 😭

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse has been delayed to June 25, 2027.

Insiders say the later date will be better for bringing in school-aged kids for summer break, as some schools would still be in session in early June. It’s also seen as a more appealing date internationally.
