In Japan, having twins was, uh, not exactly a happy thing. People believed a woman could only carry one kid from her husband — if there were two, it was blamed on demon stuff or punishment for really bad shit in a past life. The first one born was considered the demon child. That kid would either be killed or given away to another family, but Cronos kept Krux because their mother begged him to. You could maybe say she was the first one who, just to save her son, pushed the idea of the brothers being like clock hands — like they were always meant to be born together, fate and all. But their dad never missed a chance to remind him just how much contempt he had in store for every little thing he did wrong.
As the years went by, Acronix basically flipped the script: to cover for his brother, he started doing the exact opposite of what their father expected. And after their mom died — the one he looked so much like — he fully became a nightmare to Cronos. "That bitch screwed me over, hiding what she really was behind a human son."
Now about the masks. Krux is way closer to the ideal samurai type, so his mask matches that — one of a worthy warrior, Akushichibyō Kagekiyo. Acronix, on the other hand, wears an oni mask, the one he's been trying on this whole time. As a bonus: there's this line in bushido that goes, "When a samurai strolls through pleasure districts among the crowd without proper caution, he may run into some huge fool and get dragged into a quarrel before he even realizes it." Whenever it worked in his favor, Nix would totally play the fool. I feel like that fits his canon energy so well — the impulsiveness, the recklessness, the edge.
That situation, when the first screen of Rapton was mistaken for Krux, led me to frivolous thoughts that if Acronix had a brother complex, then a person similar to him would not go unnoticed. Now the joke has ceased to be a joke ... - It's almost Krux, only fumbling for technology and like he LITERALLY CAME OUT OF THE GAME. JUST THE PERFECT MAN. (Yes, and I myself Rapton sunk into the soul when watching, I could not leave him unattended 🙌)
As for the second, it seems to me that Beatrix is similar to Krux: she also strives to seize power, does not keep track of the victims on her way to the goal, is smart and cruel. (She's also so pretty, phehehe reminds me of that owl Eve from the penguins of Madagascar >3<)
What about shizun-Binghe? :) SQQ and SY probably could be brothers or such kind of friends which you never expect to see together 🤣 Maybe demonic origin stays with Binghe (but actually I think this role suits SQQ&SY more because of their devilish personalities x) ) so he had to hiding his nature, but according to the plot disciplines had pushed off the shizun when his secret came out (cruel sisteeeem 💢)
Recently, I was thinking about AU where Bing-Mei met original Shen Qingqiu and made a man out of a cucumber (built artificial wooden limbs) :3 Bingge wrested his tongue out, so shizun write smth on paper to communicate with discipline.
