Returning to Tumblr for a moment to put this out there almost anonymously (I trust the folks who follow me and know me IRL). Lovely and her other girlfriend Barista are considering moving in together. This caught me off guard completely. As recently as April, Lovely was talking to me about how her relationship with Barista is not and may never be a "move in" relationship. She was worried that Barista was pushing for it and it's not something she wants, for a few reasons including the fact that her ex-fiance just moved out officially back in August and she likes living alone. It's fine if she's come around and changed her mind, but I have noticed Barista pushing for it pretty openly for the past few months, around the last time Lovely talked to me about needing to chat with Barista about expectations for the future. I don't think I'm saying Barista is pressuring her into this, but I don't know that I'm not saying that either. Logistically this complicates things, obviously. I spent a chunk of time last night talking it over with Dearest to see if there's anything we could do or offer to make the logistics easier should this theoretical plan come to pass. I'm still feeling things. I dunno. Probably fear of the unknown.

If you work in a movie theater and you do this I have no respect for you.

My younger brother is Type 1 Diabetic.

When we go to a movie theater, we always get him diet soda. If he were to get regular when we asked for diet, we would not give him the insulin he would need for it. If that happens, his blood sugar level could go so high he could go into a coma, go blind, or even die.

If somebody gave him regular soda instead of diet without telling us, that person could be responsible for a nine-year-old being killed or blinded.

Just thinking about that makes me so angry. I get scared every time we take him to a movie in case the people working there saw this picture and decide to do the same thing.

Fun story about the baristas doing this kind of shit. 

I am very sensitive to lactose, not Lactose intolerant but because of stomach ulcers that are still healing. A couple years ago I went to Starbucks right after my classes with some friends and asked for a green tea latte with soy milk. The barista, for some reason out of malice and/or hate for her life so she took it out on me, gave me whole milk in my latte.

5 minutes after my first sip of latte, my stomach cramped BAD. Not the “Oh! time to poop!” kind of cramp but it felt like someone had stabbed me with a knife and twisted it. Now I’ve had this happen before so I knew the cause of it. I went up to the barista clutching my gut screaming at her that she put dairy in my latte rather than soy LIKE I REQUESTED. She denied it and called me a “pretentious white girl for wanting soy”and so my friends got the manager. I had to explain that I had stomach ulcers that were still healing and if I were to go to the hospital for this incident, they would be responsible for it.

Manager flipped his shit and the barista was terrified out of her mind. Pretty sure both thought i was gonna sue. Manager actually fired her on the spot because of the negligence. My friends managed to get me home in one piece while I stayed home for 3 days in absolute agony and missed my midterm.

So remember kiddies, if someone is asking for Diet or “Skinny” or “soy” or anything that is not regular, give them what they requested because it may not be them being healthy, but a dietary need that can possibly be life or death

One thing that has always baffled me about pro choicers is their argument that pro lifers only care about fetuses and not their mothers. There are so so many pro life organizations that actually support mothers. Pregnancy centers offer so much support, classes, diapers, clothes, opportunities for jobs, counseling, and love!!. They give mothers the encouragement and hope that they can have their babies and be the amazing mothers that they are!

Pro choice organizations like planned parenthood do one thing- abortions.

So in reality we protect unborn lives while lifting up and supporting their mothers. Pro choicers just kill unborn babies and tell their mothers that their lives are better off. We care about all lives. Stop spreading lies to fit your agenda.

Except that parenting classes, diapers, and clothes do absolutely nothing to help someone who is pregnant and doesn’t want to, or can’t, be. If your help only extends to the people who agree with your agenda, it can’t really be classified as helping all people with unintended pregnancies.

Not to mention that if those “pro-life organizations” you’re referring to are Crisis Pregnancy Centers, they literally exist to do nothing but lie, spread misinformation, and manipulate people who are already facing something very difficult. 

I’m sure you know by now that Planned Parenthood does quite a bit. Abortion literally accounts for 3% of their total services. What do you think the other 97% is? Abortion? Nope! 

Planned Parenthood offers services that prevent pregnancies (birth control, barrier methods, sex education), end pregnancies (abortion), have nothing to do with pregnancies (STI testing, breast exams, etc) and services that *GASP* help with keeping pregnancies! Many Planned Parenthood locations actually offer prenatal care. Planned Parenthood is a women*’s health clinic - not just an abortion clinic. (And even if all they did offer was abortion services, there’s nothing wrong with having an abortion). 

Pro-lifers and pro-life legislation does near nothing to “help mothers” or even “save the unborn” whereas pro-choicers seriously just want people to have the choice. That means lifting up and supporting people who choose abortion, parenthood, or anything else. Not picking and choosing based on what we like.

So generally speaking, this is cool as hell, however, please remember one thing… If girls are unable to attend school due to not having pads, they might also not live in areas with efficient waste management. When companies like Kotex send their disposable products to the developing world, it’s often a gesture that has environmental consequences. (Ok, disposable pads have environmental consequences here, but we hide them away in landfills and don’t have to think much about it.)

Consider support for groups like Femme International or AfriPads instead, as these are less likely to cause problems in communities with poor sanitation infrastructure.

All of these are signs of intelligence. High intelligence. It’s possible that elephants may be as smart as we are.

For us, we would not feel right about having a sexual/emotional relationship with a potential partner if one or more of their partners is uneasy about polyamory. 

Informed consent is very important. “Kind of up in the air” wouldn’t be good enough for me to feel good about the potential relationship, and the health and wellbeing of the potential metamours.

Demonizing polyamorous bisexuals  doesn’t solve the problem, because people who believe that bisexual/pansexual/polysexual people will cheat (because they’re attracted to multiple genders) will think that regardless of whether they’re polyamorous or not.

Monosexual people can cheat. Bisexual people can cheat. Even aromantic people can cheat, depending on the boundaries of the relationships. Anyone can cheat, because cheating isn’t exclusive to any given identity.

The existence of bisexual/pansexual/polysexual polyamorous people doesn’t prove that bi/pan/poly people are cheaters. Polyamory isn’t inherently cheating. Polyamory is the consensual, responsible and ethical practice of non-monogamy (of course, polyamorous people have the ability to cheat, but the practice of polyamory isn’t about cheating - it’s about open and honest communication between all parties of the relationship).

All the equating of the two  proves is the ignorance of the person that is arguing. 

Please, don’t erase bi/pan/poly polyamorous people to prove that bisexual people are not cheaters. That isn’t helping. Biphobia, and a misunderstanding of ethical non-monogamy/polyamory is the problem.
