I want to talk about this particular reply, sent to someone rightfully being upset about someone misgendering Kris and referring to them as transfem.

condescending ass tone aside, the fandom has not, in fact, gotten it through its thick skull that characters referred to with they/them pronouns prefer they/them pronouns. we literally would not be here, having this conversation, if it did. this blog would not fucking exist if it did. not to mention that the original comment this reply was under literally referred to Kris with they/she.
how are you gonna look me in my red, allergy ridden eyes, and tell me the fandom knows they/them characters do in fact use they/them directly under a comment that does not fucking use they/them pronouns for a they/them character?
it’s not that Kris being called transfem is the issue here. as they said, being transfem and being they/them non-binary at the same time is possible
it’s the insistence on misgendering them that often happens in the same sentence as calling them transfem, as well as the frequent misconception that transfem is synonymous with being a binary trans woman or even just being amab.
so no, i don’t think you’re allowed to say Kris is transfem if you’re treating it as another word for trans woman.
Arguably, i don’t think you’re allowed to say Kris is transfem because considering their presentation in the actual fucking game they’re in, they don’t lean any particular direction. dare i say they’re neutral leaning. transneutral.

I wish people would stop devaluing friendship in a misguided attempt at valuing QPRs. I just saw a post where the ENTIRE point was that the two characters were "just" friends and someone called it a QPR. And yeah you could see their relationship that way in general but obviously in this post they are "JUST" friends and that's important too.
You can love your friends without it being a QPR! You can be committed to your friends without it being a QPR! By implying otherwise you are treating QPRs as Romance Lite by applying amatonormativity to them by implying they are a superior form of relationship over friendship. No!!! We need to abolish the relationship hierarchy, not simply twist it to fit our own selfish needs, neglecting to account for anyone else! Cut that shit out!
You can be aroace and have friends and not want a QPR. I feel like a lot of people don’t get that. They want us to fit in the box of having a relationship, even if they say the right language that they can deny that’s the case. This has happened to me several times.
A QPR is its own thing, and like a relationship, is not necessary for someone’s fulfilment. People deserve to be listened to, and not told to conform to boxes, even when they deny that’s what they’re doing.
In case you weren't aware, the goal of a boycott is to significantly impact the bottom line of a business to pressure it into stopping some specific harmful behavior.
This means that a disorganized "don't support this" with no clear timeframe, no clear demand being put forward, and no organized effort to reach the actual customers of the business... is pretty unlikely to achieve anything.
"Boycotts never achieve anything" factoid is actually a statistical error. Historically, boycotts have been an enormously successful pressure mechanism for collective action. Boycotts georg, a social media user who launches a million poorly strategized boycotts every day with no thought given to target selection or actionable demands, is an outlier adn should not have been counted.
