Etiquette when dating extraordinary beings 02
-Do not push her into consummate meat and earth vegetables and fruits too early-not to mention industrial products. Let her going on into a raw seafood and seaweeds diet for a while.
-If she can’t magically get legs, she’ll have to move into a wheelchair. Take the same precautions you’ll take with a disabled person, and beware that she can access to public areas with ease.
-Tennis, horse riding, or hiking are not activities she will enjoy, for that reason. But nights in a theater, private pool parties, go to a museum, a church or to a zoo will be appreciated.
-Don’t get her into a delphinium or aquarium, though. See marine species locked up can be shocking, plus many mermaids fear sharks, whales and orcas, thus the sight of them.
-She’ll may enjoy The little mermaid, but may find offensive the original tale, where the prince prefers the human girl to the mermaid. Maybe show her instead an adaptation, like the Disney cartoon, or Splash.
-Mermaids alphabet is different from ours. Until she learns it, a mermaid will prefer books with a lot of pictures.
-Electric appliances are unknown to mermaids. Be patient as they can scare her, and she will have to learn how it work.
-So is fire, so explain her the risks tied to it.
-Loud noises and strong lights are unknown to her too. Like the fairy, she will prefer classical music concerts, museums and theater plays, to hard rock concerts, discotheques, matches and action movies.
-Everything will be new to a mermaid on earth, and she will have to learn everything. She’ll may feel stupid because of this, so from time to time stop being the teacher and ask her about the sea, so will be the one teaching you.
Note: This applies too if you simply befriend a mermaid, of course.
