right? also, they’ve been foreshadowing it from the start - to anyone who paid any attention at all to 1.02, it’s really obvious that Kyoro’s soul is bound to the throne.  it’s also implied that he was in love with it, too, before the reapening. just look at the way he’s sitting on it in the flashback in 2.13

Didn’t Frivor also, like, scuff up the legs of the Throne when he drained the Souls with it? That is a sign that he was permanently damaged when he explored the Pit of Ash-blades. To get out he had to sign a deal with the Necronekkomancer to remove his heart and replace it with a Seeing Stone.

I get that all the Frivor stans are going “uwu, Frivor was under the Necronekkomancer’s control all the time, my boi did nothing wrong ever”, but he CHOSE to explore the Pit in the first place so he could find a way to duplicate the Throne and drain more souls, so that’s a sign he was never gonna repent and change.

Listen, a lot of of Frivor fans are also coming out of workplace bullying incidents, so that time when he drowned the priest of Ursu in a vat of gold was really cathartic for us. And I think people forget that he never had any positive role models, growing up as an acolyte of the world-eaters. It’s not like Byron who was f'ing idolized from birth. If anyone ever gave that boy a hug he’d follow them to the end of the earth, but nobody ever does because hies whole purpose in the show is to suffer :(

See, I get that Frivor was bullied as an acolyte, but he continued that cycle of workplace harassment as an adult.

Like that scene when he told his Temple Guard to “Capture Viscount Byron, I don’t know how, and I don’t care how, you’re smart, qualified people and that’s why I hired you, just do it by the end of the tendays or there will be consequences”, I got flashbacks to my last supervisor. The man gave us all unrealistic workloads with no support or advice on how to accomplish this, saying he didn’t have time for “handholding.”

And then Frivor DID have the Captain of the Guard entombed in a giant vase of raspberry gelatin because they couldn’t find Byron, who was unrecognizable because his body was de-aged and nobody learned this until after the High Priestess interrogated him a season later.

I’d have more sympathy for Frivor if he didn’t make his minions cry on a regular basis. Yes, the priest of Ursu SUCKED, but then so does Frivor. I think the only reason this asshole has fans is that his actor is conventionally attractive. (That is a problem; make the villains ugly and you feed into harmful stereotypes; make them hot and now everybody wants to f*ck the guy who demoted his laundress for not folding his socks.)

Byron WAS idolized from birth but at least he followed all of the Codes, even when he had amnesia! And he adopted the baby Shade-muncher and didn’t abandon her even when she tried to rip out his soul and eat it!
