I judge how good a book is based on how disoriented I am with my physical surroundings after closing it.

“I used to think I was the strangest person in the world, but then I thought, ‘There are so many people in the world, there must be someone just like me, who feels bizarre and flawed in the same ways I do.“ I would imagine her, and imagine that she must be out there thinking of me, too. Well, I hope that if you are out there and read this and know that: yes, it’s true. I’m here, and I’m just as strange as you.”

If grandmothers around the world had a rallying cry, it would probably sound something like “You need to eat!”
Photographer Gabriele Galimberti’s grandmother said something similar to him before one of his many globetrotting work trips. To ensure he had at least one good meal, she prepared for him a dish of ravioli before he departed on one of his adventures.
“In that occasion I said to my grandma ‘You know, Grandma, there are many other grandmas around the world and most of them are really good cooks,” Galimberti wrote via email. “I’m going to meet them and ask them to cook for me so I can show you that you don’t have to be worried for me and the food that I will eat!’ This is the way my project was born!”
The project, “Delicatessen With Love”, took Galimberti to 58 countries where he photographed grandmothers with both the ingredients and finished signature dishes.
He acted as photographer and stylist during each shoot with the grandmothers, taking a portrait of both the women and the food they made for him.

Seriously if anybody ever takes any mental-health advice from me, let it be this:
Do not self deprecate. Ever. Not as humor, not as a coping mechanism, and certainly not as an attempt to endear yourself to other.
It is SO unhealthy and SO debilitating to your mental health. Good lord, I cannot stress enough how much self-deprecation fucking hurts you. Please just stop doing this to yourself. It’s a form of self-harm, it’s not good for you.
I’ve met so many people who would be so much better off if they just stopped trash-talking themselves so much.
chiron struggles to be true to and loving with himself under the constraints of masculinity/gendered homophobia to the point that as an adult hes terrified of intimacy and has only let himself touch another man when he was a fucking high schooler and moonlight’s ending sees him embracing the love of his life while ending on a shot of him as a child near a moonlit ocean facing the viewer so BOLDLY as if to imply that he’s capable of returning to a sweet innocence and pride that was never afforded to him!! the fact that water throughout the film is symbolic of change in its relation to baptisms and chiron has finally developed for the better! try to show me something thats more HEALING more CATHARTIC more LOVING than that you cinema snobs!!!!!!!!!!!!
