no matter what sort of life one leads, it seems that twine is always a useful thing to have around. whether you use it as a replacement for ribbon when wrapping presents, or to tie party favor bags, or even to tie your hair back when baking a cake, twine is one of the ubiquitous comforts of home. were very excited to be able to bring you a new kind of twine, made out of high-quality hemp. a two-ply twine, each strand was spun by hand on a double-treadle wheel (whilst watching french films), and one of the strands hand-dyed in a thrifted enamel pot filled with onion skins gathered from months of eating onions for dinner. then, the two strands were spun together to form this delightful string. in addition to the uses listed above, our twine is also perfect for decorating candles, bookbinding, and macrame or small-scale weaving. when you choose to source small things like twine from our shop, you are choosing to partake in an ancient, community-focused and sustainable process, and therefore taking the power of sustainable living into your own hands. we greatly appreciate you and are always eager to have conversations about the effects our choices have on the earth and each other. thank you for shopping!
