Monarchs, oligarchs, matriarchs, patriarchs. Why can't we just have a regular arch
An informational comic I illustrated for my comics 2 class about drag!
that medieval peasant you’re trying to kill with hyper-pop is gonna make you clean and butcher a chicken and you’re gonna throw up.
British people will get so mad online about Americans microwaving their hot water for tea instead of using a Proper Tea Kettle and then go pronounce Pico de Gallo as "Picko de Gallow" and say that s'mores are "an Italian meringue sandwiched between two ganache-covered digestives" on live television
Remember when Paul Hollywood made challah with milk and said it was commonly eaten for Passover 💀
I’m sorry WHAT? Is it not extremely common to clean a microwave by microwaving water and lemon juice so it boils and the steam makes it easy to wipe down… I’ve literally never heard of water exploding in the microwave
I think the person who left those tags is under a genie's curse or something because no one I have ever met has ever fucked up so badly that their water exploded in the microwave
No, this is a real thing- you can microwave water and it's fine, just don't microwave water in a new mug. When water boils, the first few bubbles need something to form on, and sometimes physics gets weird with super super smooth surfaces and the bubbles have nowhere to form. So then when you grab the mug and disturb the water, it can spontaneously boil, which is startling, causing you to dump boiling water over your hand. Boiling water burns are really serious, too! So it's not that microwaving water is inherently unsafe, just that you should watch out if you're microwaving it to boiling or near-boiling temperatures.
Okay now THIS is a useful addition. I have microwaved water for tea daily to weekly for over five years and this has never happened to me -- likely because I almost always use old mugs and keep an eye on my water to see when it comes to a boil. Interesting science facts, the more you know ig!

As much as I love the Stardew Valley spouses it always kinda bugs me that they stay stagnant after you marry them. Like even after having kids and passing a decade in game they look and act the exact same? Anyway what if
(Also don’t worry I will be doing the bachelors. I’m drawing dilf Elliott even if it kills me)
i think it’s cute how humans create things that look like other things. bear shaped honey bottle. mushroom night light. book purses. that’s what it’s all about

I appreciate that in the 14th century, artists in Java decided that money pots were going to be shaped like pigs, and centuries later, allegedly through an accident of translation (“pygg” was a type of cheap clay), England started doing the same thing.

aren't gorillas gentle giants or something. i stay out of his way, he doesn't maul me, we have a nice time picking out clothes together in opposite sides of the mall
Male gorillas are super aggressive and territorial. Also they interpret nearly every human mannerism as a sign of aggression or a challenge. Smiling and eye contact are both things that zookeepers have to be taught to suppress when they’re in the vicinity of gorillas.
Well unless the mall is his native territory I think I'm fine, I wasn't planning on smiling at him
This is all irrelevant because the obvious answer is five black mambas. I mean, that’s not actually very many snakes, and malls are fucking huge. And unlike a gorilla you can definitely outrun a snake if it does show up. Find an open space in the mall where you can see any snake coming and just hangout out there. Fucking easy.
Misguided! I would much rather have a mallmate I can easily see and hear coming. I'm confident I can stay out of the gorilla's way, but if I step on a snake or one otherwise gets the jump on me, it's all over.
It's not just about the physical danger either, it's about my mental health. One gorilla, unless he's actively mad at me, I just keep a healthy distance between us and make sure I never get trapped. With the snakes, it requires a lot more constant vigilance
They should substitute "chimpanzee" for "gorilla" in this hypothetical.
if it was a chimp i'm taking the fucking snakes
Black mambas have a reputation build on being very venomous and very fast. I'm not sure why you would think you could outrun one (or five) in an enclosed space like a mall.
Malls usually have pretty slick floors, and escalators. I’d choose the gorilla simply because I think that would make an more interesting story (and a better-selling autobiography, I Survived the Mall Gorilla) but I think I’d stand a pretty good chance at avoiding the mamba. They’re fast and aggressive and will chase you but unless we started immediately beside each other I think my sneakers would have the terrain advantage over scutes.
this is too good to leave hidden in the replies
fucking enamored with the implication that this gorilla is fully intelligent but is trying to manufacture plausible deniability like the movie barnyard
I always wondered why the Western Zodiac and the Chinese Zodiac were both called zodiacs if one was associated w astronomy and the other w time in general. Like what defines a zodiac that the word is only used to describe these two things? Looking up the word “zodiac” in the dictionary didnt help bc it only talked about the western one.
Well, I decided to look up the etymology for zodiac and it turns out it comes from the Greek for “circle of little animals.” I love humans
was unwilling to accept this outright so i checked etymonline and, truly:

Behold, a zodiac!

my dad worked in HR for a big company before he retired. they offered summer internships for the children of employees, which I did for a few years during college. the pay wasn’t high, but you still did basically the same tasks as a full-time employee in your department
and it was WILD
I’d finish a task in a day, only to be told that was my task for the week. my boss was blown away and raved about my efficiency. which was very nice but like…dude. you gave me about 6 hours worth of work, and that’s at a leisurely pace with an hour-long lunch break. why are you so impressed?
eventually I started messing around on my phone for hours to drag the tasks out longer, because I felt bad when my boss had to scramble to find things for me to do. I got like ten fanfic chapters written per month that way
meanwhile, at my last retail job, I got in trouble for talking to vendors at the adjoining stalls during slow periods
