“Yes, miss, just come with me and I’ll take you home…” Iris’s ears perked up at the sound of a shady voice that sounded anything but friendly, mismatched eyes landing on a young woman and a seedy looking stranger. He was wobbling and had slurred speech, most likely drunk and targetting the first vulnerable girl he could find. The girl, obviously lost and a bit afraid, followed the man without question. There was no way Iris could sit back and let this happen. In a flash, Iris had the man’s wrist in her grasp, digging a nail into his skin and glaring him down. “If you truly have good intentions, you should leave the lady in the hands of someone sober. I’ll take it from here.” She flashed her fangs briefly for good measure, letting the man flee as soon as she released him. “Are you okay?” Iris turned to address the other girl. “That man did not hurt you, did he?” @timidbookeeper
♛ - Sabrina wasn’t really sure about this. Her father had always cautioned her against following strangers – especially strange men, meandering about in the night. But she was lost, it was frighteningly dark out, and Sabrina had absolutely no idea on how to get back home from here.
And, well, this man was a bit odd, but he seemed kind! Since he was being generous enough to offer her some assistance… it would be okay, wouldn’t it? She was well aware of the possible consequences, and mentally prepared in the case that things went south… but she would like to think that not all strangers were bad. Father was just far too distrustful of others.
“Y-yes, thank you so much for this…!” She responds, desperately trying to ignore the anxious fluttering in her stomach as she begins to follow after him. Things had appeared to start off well, but when a figure suddenly passes her by, grabbing the man by the wrist and flashing what appeared to be fangs, Sabrina lets out a small gasp of shock.
As much as she wanted to help the man, she was far too paralyzed with fear to be of any actual use. Was this… a nightly creature? The very ones she’s read about in so many books? Whatever the case, the woman thankfully lets the man go without causing him any harm, and when she turns her multicolored gaze to Sabrina, the young heiress tenses up.
This woman… how harrowing.
“U-um, I… I’m alright! He was nothing but kind…” This woman didn’t seem to want to cause her any harm. But she couldn’t be too careful! Dwellers of the dark were masters at masking their true natures.
