College kicked my booty and I had to work through art block and burnout, but finals are over now! So I’m getting back on the grind and revamping my pitched One Piece keychains. I finished Sanji/Nami/Zoro’s sketches, but wanted to make some for other characters i want to do as well.
Robin and Franky immediately came to mind (FROBIN TRUTHER 🗣️🗣️🗣️) but I’m gonna make Sabo, Ace, and Koby as well.
I’ll be ordering mostly rainbow keychains but will test colored acrylic as well to see what you guys prefer. This will all hopefully be around January!
little concept for a one piece oc, nothing official since im still nowhere near caught up but i cannot resist sharing my thoughts... (all under da cut)
her name is Brizo (she/her) !! She's 17 pre timeskip 19 post...
She consumed the seal seal fruit (selkie variant) when she was 13, giving her mythical zoan powers. While her full form is not practical in most situations, her partially transformed state gives her webbed hands and feet, claws, sharp teeth, whiskers, a full coat of fur and seal skin, and a prehensile tail. Like seals, she also gains a resistance to cold and has more muscle and power than a normal person, as well as a keener sense of hearing.
She, like any other devil fruit user, can't swim. However, she has the ability to manipulate the water around her, and has found a way to "swim" (propelling herself underwater with this power) for periods of time through intense endurance training. This is not a simple task and the concentration required means she becomes vulnerable in the water, not able to expend energy on fighting. She also has the ability to channel her voice and its amplitude, creating destructive sonic blasts or in some applications using it for echolocation (she also just has a nice singing voice!). Like selkies of myth, she has a captivating aura for many around her, much to her chagrin. This ability is more of a curse than an asset to her.
I have ideas for her lore but I know I need to read more first (sobs in wanting to write stories for her.)
Currently, I imagine the Marines quickly take her into their ranks after she consumes the fruit at the young age of 13, unaware of what powers it held. Brizo was shaken, having watched her hometown become engulfed in chaos after it was discovered the fruit had been stolen by a crew of pirates before somehow ending up mixed in with the other fruits Brizo's mother harvested. The fallout of the pirates' rage destroyed not only much of her hometown, but took her mother as well. Brizo was promised stability and a chance to stake revenge on the crew which wronged her in the Marines; she was not a vindictive girl but firmly believed she needed to use her powers to serve justice for her family and others. Garp is tasked with conditioning her physically and mentally, creating a mentorship similar to what he has with Koby and Helmeppo. Brizo is transferred after she turns 14 to a special unit to hone her devil fruit powers, the higher ranking officers seeing an opportunity in having a marine with not only mythical zoan, but water-centered powers as well. She is able to become significantly better at handling her powers as well as developing an inclination for observation haki. The 3 years she spends honing these skills is critical to making her stronger, but costs years of social development, leaving her rather soft-spoken and unsure of herself despite leaving the program as a captain at the age of 17. She's placed with a few different officers as her overhead until she ends up on Garp's ship once more.
Despite her weak self-confidence, Brizo proves to be a capable captain when given the correct guidance. Garp's rough n' tough mentality helps her put her foot down and become assertive when she needs to be such, and recognize that she was trusted with her position for a reason. She is promoted to Commodore at the end of the timeskip, assigned to work with headquarters. Following the timeskip, Brizo still has a quiet disposition but outgrows much of her feelings of inadequacy. Her superiors note her talent for gathering information, often sending her on jobs to evaluate islands around the Grand Line to report on sightings of criminals and pirates with bounties and assign new bounties to persons of interest. Being well mannered and efficient with her work also makes Brizo a well-liked person by many civilians, giving her an advantage in building rapport and chasing potential leads. Brizo also finds herself more empathetic and aware of the wrongs the Marines have committed, but struggles to stray from her path to serve justice the way she believes is right.
All rambles for now... but I cannot wait to refine my thoughts as I get more into the story !!!

hi ash!! this is so sweet omg, i understand the struggle of not having money to support artists (all profits from my shop go back towards more products rn since im still getting off the ground and making more designs!!) I just dropped out your order today at the post office so it should hopefully make it to you before the holiday (if USPS blesses me with convenience…)
i haven’t been active because of the ever increasing workload — i have 4 major projects due at the start of December and then im onto my last normal semester before i apply to graduate.
it’s been tough changing to be multi fandom since i built a mainly TOH oriented following this summer but i am so unbelievably grateful for all of the support I’ve received from tumblr— it helped me get the confidence to start selling and im going to hopefully begin tabling at real events in the near future.
