Welcome to Starfleet Daycare!

My name is Micah (or Kennedy, or Autumn Breezes). My main blog is @living-history-lesson I primarily use he/they/ae pronouns. I am a traumagenic system, but I will primarily be using I rather than we for simplicity's sake. I have a lot of system littles, and I also involuntarily age regress. Youngest system littles are infants, but most of my syskids are ages 5 to 12, and I tend to regress to ages 5 to 10. This sideblog is star trek agere themed! Yippee!!!! This sideblog is strictly SFW!!! Data is my fictional caregiver and/or fatherly F/O (but also the Data fictive in my system is a caretaker for the host). I also somewhat see Nyota Uhura as a caregiver. Please send me fics/concepts/imagines/etc about either of these characters as parents or caregivers!!! I also really like head cannons about Julian Bashir being an age regressor, though I don't know if I 100% headcannon it or just appreaciate the headcannon. We would also love seeing fics/concepts/imagines/etc of Bashir as a regressor.

I hate that ptsd keeps being rude. Why have to experience trauma again and again???? Mean.

And it keeps bringing syskids out which makes the flashbacks harder to mask and cope through.

There is no wrong way to play!♡

for all of our lives so many autistic people are told they don't play, or they play wrong, because they play differently. some regressors feel like they lost their ability to play, but when youre told since you were actually little that how you play "isnt play" that may not be the case. Play can be--

brushing a doll's hair or changing their clothes

sorting blocks or other toys into categories

touching a toy and taking in its sight, feel, sounds, smells

lining things up

taking things apart and putting them back together

moving toys around without a story involved

autistic play is still play, "abnormal" play is still play, as long as youre having safe fun, its play!!♡♡

Involuntary Agere + PTSD Vent

So like,,, it's really frustrating that maybe 80% of the tiime we regress it's because of PTSD flashbacks... like system littles will front outside of PTSD/trauma stuff but it's. so frustrating only getting small time as a consequence of bad memories/feelings. (sometimes even with alters who we didn't know regress - like me rn)... Especially when so much agere content online is people who use regression to feel BETTER. like sorry this is me at my WORST (not upset at people for having other experiences i just. emotions) and i just uggghhhh idk side note i wish I knew a term other than "impure" regression to refer to negative-feeling age regression because it's like. the connotations of that word give a whole different vibe to me than "regression that causes/comes alongside negative feelings" idk want happy. want trauma memories go away.

Caregiver!Data Fic Thing - Story Time

Little is crying in the corner, holding onto a plushie, when Data approaches, asking what is wrong. The little one can't find the words but reaches out for a hug. Data gives a hug. His hugs feel firm and cool, but they bring their own special comfort. The hug lasts for a couple moments, before Data brings the little to his quarters for some peace and quiet. Data sits next to the little and wipes away their tears. "I am here, little one. You are safe here." He watches the little intently, and places his hand on their back. The little stops crying and pauses, to think before babbling and pointing to an old paper book that is on a table. "That is my copy of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle. We have to be very careful with the pages, but I can read some of it to you, if you would like" The little one nods excitedly, and Data gets up to retrieve the book. He knows he could tell the story without risking damage to the item, but something tells him that it will mean more to the little one if he can read directly from the page. As Data prepares to tell the story, he carefully calculates which details to omit for the little one's comfort. The little one curls up next to Data, and looks at the book closely as Data reads, happy to share this moment with their caregiver. They get lost in the rhythm of Data's voice and the turning of pages, and begin slowly drifting off. Data of course, is aware the little one is drifting towards restfulness, but makes sure to read the first story of the book to completion. By the time "A Scandal in Bohemia" has been solved, the little is fast asleep, holding onto Data's arm. Data stays still for a while allowing the little one to rest and cuddle, before gently getting up, returning the book to it's proper place, and leading the little to their own quarters to rest for the night.

Random Data CG thoughts vol. 1

Little, trying to reach on their tip toes, “Milk!!”

Data turns, seeing his small friend. “Are you attempting to use the replicator, little one?”

*nods*

“You must be more specific to acquire sustenance from this device, would you like me to demonstrate to you?”

He would pick his little up and hold them up to the empty box as he typed out the specifics of the milk formula and the bottle which contained it.

“Would you prefer it to be warmed, small one?”

A gentle nod tells him yes, as he finalizes the entry and the perfect bottle of warm milk appears before them both. A small “mew” from behind him makes him pause.

“Perhaps I should consider making something for her as well, she does tend to become jealous …”

And then just imagine him cradling his little on his lap while they drink their milk and Spot finishes their treat and curls up on the chair behind Data and AAAAAA this is so self indulgent hhhh 🫣🤭

again, rather normalized in the society (this does not meam that everyone immediately accepts it or it is not judged but it is much more common)

i think it's common for sickbay staff to have "daycare" shifts but any crewmembers can sign up to be on duty there. despite the name it's not just baby/toddler regressors and so some people prefer to refer to it as the "ship day club/camp"

bc of the nature of the work they do, involuntary regressing/accidental regression is basically treated as if the person got hurt/sick and they're taken off duty and either returned to their quarters, the daycare/day club, or asked if they have someone they want called for them. sickbay staff/counselors may be asked to check in on people esp if vent/invoul regressing just to ensure help/safety is near if needed

when they are created, holodecks serve as an excellent way to engage/play with regressors especially if homesick or feeling drained by constantly being on ship. go into the sea, my little fishy regressor

ive seen like. varying responses of vulcans towards regressing i think they're just like "yeah thats a human thing sure" but vulcans who interact more regularly with humans develop more understanding of it. duh. anyway. vulcans who age-dream as their preferred way to meditate and calm after a stressful day

What is your thoughts on Julian Bashir being an age regressor?

No but for real, he's always held himself to high standards, worked hard, pushed himself hard- does it really surprise ANYONE to know that he needs a chance to slow himself down, take a break, and be looked after????

His childhood was literally stolen from him by his parents, having had him augmented/enhanced. He still canonically holds on to a teddybear from when he was five- you look at this boy and you tell me he's not a regressor. that he's not like 6 max

Keiko and O'Brien are both his caregivers, they are his mama and his daddy (he. calls them mama bear and daddy bear sometimes when he's really small. they love him so much). He just wants to be held and loved for who HE is not what he needs to be, and they love him no matter what

and he crashes SO so hard when his parents come to ds9, and o'brien and keiko drop everything 'cos that's their baby boy and he needs them

Garak also becomes an extremely unlikely caregiver of Bashir, and creates numerous outfits for Kukalaka (+ matching outfits for Bashir, of course, upon request)

sometimes he finds it very hard to stay small, to stay regressed, and it frustrates and upsets him and then sometimes he just crashes so hard into babyspace that he just. he can't be anything but a baby

for him it is so, so much about creating a family-scene where he is okay to be however he is, whatever he is, just unconditional love and care

okay well i'm gonna start off with the most obvious one and that's that I think agere/age regression is really a common thing in the star trek era, and it's a lot more of an open/out there kind of thing

Society-wise, it's not hard to find age/pet regression supply stores (and of course, sometimes there are "specialty" stores, that cater specificially to particular ranges or animals like middle-re or ocean regressors) there's also things like playparks, daycares, camps, activities, ect designed with regressors in mind!

In Starfleet specifically, they have generic regression gear for officers and then extra supplies stored on ship! The ships also have regression-safe spaces (like playrooms, nurseries, ect) and often have a babysitter or cg roster for someone to be in charge of those rooms (anyone can use them, its just like a sitter might be called from their usual duty if someone regresses and needs the space but they dont have a cg (but need/want one) or their cg is busy!

also, there's "kid" uniforms, (gold is command, blue is science/medical, red is operations/security/engineering) and the regressor uniform colour is a soft green! It's not really required persay, but its generally advised unless in personal quarters! It's like a camp uniform type rule

there's no restrictions on what rank/role you can take (IE you can be a captain even if you're a baby regressor) BUT you are not allowed to be on duty if regressed, for your + everyones safety, sometimes this causes issues esp if someone might be an involuntary regressor but again its considered that way for everyones safety bc it isnt the safest to have someone piloting a massive starship and be 5 yrs old at the same time

usually the CMO (chief medical officer) + ship counselors are aware of who may/may not be regressors, but again: its not shameful information, its just useful to know, its not shared w/o permission!

majority of regressors are human, but there have been other species regressors (i know data is an android not a diff species. but he is a regressor 100%)
