oh i LOVE this. pairs very well with the fact that she clearly has a hard time being alone at home especially when she's struggling. after each hard shift she's hung out with or even taken a coworker home with her; i'm sure being outside is less scary than being home alone and serves as a distraction to her whenever she gets too in her head. even now when she's living with whitaker, she clearly still has struggles and doesn't have a lot of connections so going outside and maybe listening to an audiobook while hiking feels very in character for her.

Not gonna lie this makes me a bit irritated. Here's the real version of this photo:

Instead of a cutesie reference to film censorship it was an explicit statement of defiance of Maryland's criminalization gay sex, which was not repealed until 2002. This wasn't a guy saying "Oh they can't put what I do in the movies according to a completely voluntary industry code" he was saying "The State of Maryland wants to put me in jail for being gay and having gay sex."

It wasn't a guy being cheeky about sex in an ambiguous, cute way. It was a man stating, in no uncertain terms, that a whole state of the United States considered him a criminal for being homosexual.

truly the only time i will whip out the calculator app for mental maths is when i do need to be pinpoint accurate (not ballparking it) and also it involves an annoying number like "what's 17% of that". i could do it in my head. it just takes a minute. i don't necessarily want to

the vast majority of the time however either a) a ballpark figure is fine ("eh 17% is about £3.60 or so") or b) it's a simple enough addition/subtraction/percentage... so it is literally fucking quicker to do it in my head

yep! and even when it isn't manual punching in of numbers sometimes the machine scans things wrong. the price in the system is wrong (different to the ticket on the shelf). a discount didn't apply properly. etc

if you already know what's *supposed* to be on the screen you can catch it *before you even pay* which is actually the best and easiest time to solve that problem
