Just binge watched Arcane this week and I NEED to ramble about Jayce and Viktor's relationship.
Usually, I'm not a big fan of shipping in fandoms in general BUT Jayvik really got my heart lmao. And I totally headcanon them both as queerplatonic partners and Viktor simply screams aro-ace to me, like I love how intimate and strong their friendship is in the beginning and seeing it becoming something more than just 'good friends' until eventually their ways part and how Viktor says at the end of Season 2 "it was affection" that held them together.
We can see how that partnership also slowly crumbles when Jayce quite literally takes the spotlight during the invention day, leaving Viktor in the shadows, starts a relationship with Mel and becomes a counselor, using HexTech for intentions they both swore to never do.
In the meantime, Viktor builds the HexCore and sees an opportunity to save his life, do good and help others in deed, becoming one with the Arcane. Lastly, Jayce knows what he did was wrong and through the consequences of his actions tries to kill the only person that could help him with that - his partner.
It all comes down to the end, when Jayce sees that it actually has been Viktor all along, saving the life of his mother when he was a kid and so does Viktor, realizing that in every possible timeline "it was always him to show him that" as he says in the final episode of S2 .
And we never see them kiss or something onscreen but the viewer can totally feel that strong affection between both of them, mainly in the last episode when Jayce also tells Viktor that all he wants is "to have his partner back" - if that isn't unconditional love I dunno either...
In my headcanon they are very gay coded but not in a 'sexual way' like Vi & Caitlyn but rather through the way they need eachother, how fate brought Jayce to Viktor and through a bond that holds them together - science.
