sorry but if you look at me, a physically unwell / disabled and severely mentally ill brown trans man, and see a threat just because i use the word "man" for my identity, that says more about YOU than it says about me.

saw someone tell trans men to "make their own post"
on a post about, by, and for trans men.
Being bi and just recently figuring it out, I'm really starting to realize how much it pisses me off that it's somehow accepted in a lot of queer spaces to just write men off as unlovable. It's done to both cis and trans men, and tbh it's really fucking bothering me. Why do we put up with that? Why do we just let people write off almost half the fucking population? It's shit. Just cause it isn't a form of institutional bigotry like misogyny or homophobia doesn't make it right, doesn't mean there's a good reason to hurt people like that.
idk, I just think it's innately wrong to call anybody unlovable for their gender; didn't realize that'd be controversial. At the same time though, treating people as less worthy of care and compassion for something so simple seems to be depressingly normalized, so much so that I didn't always bat an eye at it.
It ain't right, yall deserve love too, and care, and tenderness, and affection. Don't for a second feel that you don't.
Anyhow, rant over I guess; just fucking treat people well.
Breaking News: Other people's self expression and gender non conformity might not be about or out to mock trans women?
The idea that trans men gain privilege by transitioning is absurd. You can not queer your way into privilege thats not how anything works
"if men could get pregnant-" they can. "if men got periods-" they do. "men never experience-" they do. "men would never understand-" i promise you whatever you are about to say there are men who go through the exact same thing
tumblr "feminism" is great because it'll have people saying stuff like "hate targeted at trans men isnt transphobia"
"Yeah you're actually privileged because if you just chose to live your life in the closet and never let anyone know your true self and spent everyday loathing who you are and longing for the freedom of self expression than you would have the privileges of a cis woman."
And other fantastic takes you can hear on tumblr.com
gotta be careful because TRFs can graphically describe how they want transmascs to be raped and their intestines hung from the rafters, but if any of us respond back with 0.1% of the same energy, we'll get banned. funny how that works
I can't believe i have to say this, but cis women have privilege over trans men.
The voices of cis women get more credit and attention than trans men.
Because they are CIS! And we live in a society where being CIS is the "normal", in case some of you have forgotten.
I just saw someone argue that the voices of trans men are listened more than cis women????? LMAO!!!
Where the fuck does that happen? In what alternative dimension are you living?
Holy shit!
If your "Feminism" is just treating marginalized men horribly then your not progressive, your just a bigot
People love to defend TMA/TME as a meaningful category by comparing it to BIPOC, which on the surface makes sense. BIPOC and TMA are both used to categorize minority groups that are at incredible risk of violence, and BIPOC in particular is widely accepted among any activist less racist than like. Ben Shapiro.
The only problem is the TME part. Because nonBIPOC isn't really a thing, is it? Because while black and indigenous people are grouped together by their at-risk status, no such commonality exists between everyone who isn't black or indigenous.
White people and arab people have the shared experience of not being black or indigenous, but not much else. There's no common interest or large-scale similarity that binds white people with arab people, or latino people, or any other racial minority. At best, any attempt to pretend they're one and the same is dumb as bricks, and at worst is a transparent attempt to paint a racial minority you don't like as being part of the oppressor class, and thus an acceptable target to punch "up" at.
But no, obviously TME is a very important term that definitely describes a coherent group of people. And also, that person posting about how nonBIPOCs are all illegal immigrants and terrorists and should all be killed is just complaining about their oppressors! They're literally punching up, or do you think white people are oppressed or something?
you know i dont think it counts as actual discourse when one side is going "all trans people are oppressed in sometimes unique sometimes overlapping ways and we all can have complicated relationships to gender and privilege and lack thereof" and the other side is making up a bunch of bullshit that was never said in the first place because theyre obsessed with finding the next marginalized group they can prop themselves up on to deal with the crushing reality we live in
"trans men are both men and targets of misogyny."
"so youre misgendering yourself and clinging to your agab."
"no, trans men are most often treated like broken women and are percieved and enforced by society as such."
"see? transandrobros love talking about how much trans women are male socialized with male privilege, so they can be innocent little babies with glass bones and paper skin"
"no, trans women at any stage of transition are also othered and treated as broken, no trans person has access to-"
"so youre misgendering yourself and clinging to your agab against the big scary trans women"
like this is not discourse. this is a carousel. it is a self-sustaining feedback loop for people who wish desperately to feed their own persecution complexes. no matter how many disclaimers or written out essays or olive branches offered. this crowd does not care about transgender liberation, only to use their own oppression as an excuse to take everyone else down with them.
ah yes because once you transition into a man you also end up harassing women as a side effect. especially trans women. yep. and ofc its always cis women feeling afraid of trans men and their manhood and never trans men literally loosing access to hrt bc some radfem cis women try to "protect their bodies from t".
you guys realize radical feminism is bad because of the gender essentialism, right?
its not just that when they say hateful things towards “men” they also mean trans women? you cant just say the same shit as them but change whos included in the “men” and “women” catagories. thats still the same gender essentialism. just like, wokely.
Imagine if trauma could be transferred instead of just multiplying. Being able to heal yourself by returning the trauma to sender. Feeling yourself getting mentally and physically better by traumatising your parents right back.
Cure your PTSD in one afternoon with this one simple trick: Chase your dad around the house with an axe.
if a trans man needs to hide the fact that he's trans in order to access any form of male privilege, i simply do not believe that is real privilege. i will, and never will, accept that the closet is a privilege. any queer person can go into the closet to access "privilege," and it's dumb when you all try to argue that bs too. are you not tired of making the exact same arguments about recycled queer groups every 5-10 years? nothing is ever new except the New Queer Enemy really IS privileged and evil this time, we promise!
