Well, not to toot my own horn (but I guess why not, "Worthy" turns 2 this week), but I did, and it was a blast writing. Just a small excerpt from chapter 12:
The winged horror didn't give up. It quickly stood up and closed in on the tiefling, the disturbing look of hunger in its eyes. Panicked, the wizard hit it with a quick succession of magic missiles, but even their dizzying effect didn't deter the monster from its pursuit.
Suddenly, Rolan noticed something unusual: a slick shadow moving fast towards them. Then – a whistling sound of metal, two shining blinks of steel, and a devastated screech of a ghoul, who fell to the floor. The culprit of a short spectacle was none other than a pale elf, holding two short swords in his hands – bloodied but magnificent, as himself.
"Look who's ruined my perfect ambush spot," Astarion purred smugly, eyeing Rolan up and down.
The tiefling, still catching his breath, narrowed his eyes, "Seems the ones being ambushed here are us."
"What, not even a thank you?" Astarion tsked, "Saving your lot from becoming a ghoul breakfast is a very ungrateful work."
But Rolan wasn't paying attention. The wizard's gaze shifted back to the door, his hands weaving a spell.
"...ah, I see. You'd rather be saved by a pretty dr...," Astarion didn't finish his quip, interrupted by Rolan's thunderous shatter spell he launched at monstrosities. The explosion wave raptured through creatures, dealing some damage. Their cries of pain quickly morphed into furious snarls as they turned to face their attacker, abandoning the door altogether.
"Well," Astarion drawled, sidestepping into a defensive stance as the ghouls advanced. "You've certainly got their attention now. Care to tell me what the plan is, or shall I just keep saving your hide?"
"The plan," Rolan replied sharply, his annoyance thinly veiled, "is to end them, not stand around trading barbs."
The elf just shrugged, his stance firm, "If you're bad at multitasking, just say so."
