So, in terrible news, Trump's trying to pull some strings to pass this massive internet censorship bill, featuring all the kinds of internet censorship we're terrified of, including mandatory ID for accessing basically any website, specifically to crush state regulation of AI, because apparently this man will always see the moral bottom of the barrel and start digging.
So, if you live in the US and hate censorship and AI you know what to do, contact your congresspeople and tell them do not fucking dare let this through or so help us god...

For Favourite mug I think lately it’s been my Cherie mug. This is what it looks like.
I got it back in February for about $3 from a tj maxx branch (Homesense the Canadian version) and thought it was cute so I got it. It’s a really good size for tea and has a good handle and shape. I’ve been using it ever since.
2. I guess I have a lot on my mind... There are a lot of things I feel I need to get done. Some things fixing up things in my home like a falling curtain rod among others. There are some crafts I want to start or get done like perler projects, bracelets and things. Some art pieces I want to draw or finish up. Maybe get back into playing the great ace attorney game. And mainly get my self sorted with some things I need to file and do in my irl.
3. There are a lot of characters I like but one that I would like to hang out with would be maybe Baizhu from genshin, he seems really mellow and kind the type you could sit with and have a nice cup of tea or something with. Or maybe Queen Sonia from The Zelda series she also seems really kind and thoughtful while still being fun. Goodness there’s so many to choose, I’m trying my best to limit my picks but those were the first two that came to mind without trying to remind myself which characters I like. I feel these two would be a fun chill conversation especially over tea.
4. Well I’m still working on a Vil Schoenheit piece from Twisted wonderland since mid to late March. I’ve mostly finished the face an and hair and blocked in the shapes to be properly outlined but I keep having trouble getting back to it and the crown just makes me feel stuck with me only finishing half. Here’s a preview.
I’m putting the crown up front till I finished to erase the parts hidden by his hair.
For crafting I’ve also lately been getting into the Angelique series with reading the manga which is pretty good and have been working on a perler project based on the mini in game sprite. But ran out of the bright sunshine orangey-yellow. So until I get more I’m on hold for this project.
5. And I guess my favourite aesthetic is celestial aesthetic. Pretty stars and moons. With a cozy sleepy night vibe. With pretty blues, purples, yellows, oranges and pinks. This type of vibe.
Even so much so that most things I choose names with that vibe like luma in game files, my cat being named Luna and even my username here being starry-edits.

I’ve been feeling stuck with both art block and a bit of burnout lately. I’ve still been procrastinating a digital piece for almost two months now and haven’t drawn anything other than practice portraits in my sketch book.

one of the hardest things to learn as a depressed former Gifted Kid™ is that half-assed is better than nothing. take the 50%, 40%, even 20% job. scrubbing your face is better than not taking a shower at all. picking up your clothes is better than never cleaning. nibbling on some bread is better than starving.

One of my college professors used to say “anything worth doing is worth doing poorly.” I didn’t understand that for years because I didn’t do anything poorly, I couldn’t do anything poorly, I had to Do Everything Perfectly.
But brushing your teeth for 30 seconds is better than not brushing them at all when that 2 minutes seems exhausting. Doing ten minutes of yoga is better than 10 minutes of sitting when 30 minutes of cardio sounds impossible. Changing my clothes is good when a whole shower is impossible. Standing on the porch for a few minutes is worth it after being in the house for three straight days because I don’t have the energy to go anywhere.
Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly… because doing it poorly is better than not doing it.

After 2 years managing funds for and fighting to support his family members who could not afford to leave Gaza, he decided to return to his original goal of raising funds to leave Gaza to join his wife and children in Morocco.
Unfortunately, due to the attack on Iran, the crossings have closed and Hashem’s current goal is to survive until they open them again.
Hashem and some of his family are currently renting an unfinished apartment for $300 a month. There are twelve of them sharing 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, and a kitchen. No windows, no doors, but it's much better than the tents, which they lost in the storms. Money will allow them to afford rent to stay in this shelter and to buy food at the market, which spares Hashem the terrifying risk of visiting one of the deadly aid points. He was already shot at and had his phone destroyed in a previous attack.

ok so, I approached my local library with a proposal to donate a mural as a way to A: build portfolio/gain practical experience and B: give back to a beloved public institution. The director was very enthusiastic about it and i've been working on it since the beginning of March. Come with me as I endeavor to paint what is in all honesty an excessive amount of birds
I wanted the birds to look like they were actually in the space so first thing after doing the draft was to do a lighting study
after that I covered the walls in letters in lieu of a projector/vr headset bc i have neither of those :) Then i take a picture of the section of wall and superimpose the lineart over top of it so I can pencil in the lines
et voila
and that was a whole week on it's own so next comes the paintin' >:)
So we're all pissed at the new update as we should be and I've been seeing many people proposing blackouts, which is amazing! But all the dates are different and people might get confused at what's happening when, so I just want to organize every blackout (at least that I saw) in one place.
So far I saw six people with dates.
The earliest one, organized by @yourlocalfandomfriendo begins on March 18th and will last 48 hours.
This overlaps with a second proposed blackout by @veejiez for March 19th.
There is also one on the 20th proposed by @daysleftofsecondterm and another one on the same day from 6AM UTC to 6AM UTC on the 21st by @everythingwsnormalhere.
These three days are all very soon so not everyone may see them in time to participate, but if you are able to participate for any or all of these days, I highly encourage you do. Otherwise there are two more blackouts coming up:
The next one after these will be on March 24th as organized by @aroacesafeplaceforall who suggested doing 12 hours.
And the last one, which I personally have a lot of hope for as it's a major day for activity on Tumblr and a blackout then could be especially impactful: April 1st, as proposed by @darkwood-sleddog

SO OVERALL, it may sound like a lot, but no one expects everyone to participate to every date here. But PLEASE try to participate in at least one or two of these, even if you feel it may not do much.
Typical strikes, the ones we hear about all the time, win by withholding their labour for consistent periods of time; that's the power people have at work because that's what's exploited.
For blackout strikes, we need to withhold our attention; the resource we own which is exploited through the selling of both advertisements and data.
My comparison of blackout strikes with regular strikes will be for a whole other post, but for the time being, just know that
withholding our attention is our digital bargaining weapon
Tumblr literally lost 63% of its monthly traffic from 2024 to 2025; they are not in a position to play around with those of us still here.
So PLEASE try participating. We cannot let every decent online space get enshittified with no care or consideration for the communities using those spaces.
And where labour strikers risk losing incomes and jobs, all blackout strikers risk is... gaining some of their attention back for a little bit.

It feels like a century has gone by since I've finished my last edit. I got really hyped after seeing then new trailers for the show and really wanted to do something. Also I feel Cosmo songs can go really well with many series I like so here we are!

After attacking Iran, Israel has closed all crossings into Gaza, shutting off humanitarian aid and escalating the dire humanitarian crisis facing Palestinians.
Gaza is under siege, and the price of staples has climbed tremendously. Community kitchens have been forced to close due to lack of supplies, and have been unable to afford to replenish their stocks.
Gaza Soup Kitchen is a grassroots organization that uses money from global donors to feed thousands of people every day. Their most recent campaign was to provide food parcels for Ramadan, and they are going to struggle to keep people fed in the midst of this new, horrifying war.
If you are able to, consider donating money to Gaza Soup Kitchen through their GoFundMe or GiveButter accounts to help stave off hunger in the midst of this chaos.
