I think the risks of punishment are ridiculously under stated in the kink community

This gave me an excuse to catch up on some reading I've been meaning to do :)

First and foremost, I'm not the best person to talk about this cus all of my tying experience is on myself, and I'm fairly skinny. I don't have any practical experience tying larger bodies, or being tied as someone with a larger body. What I do have is general knowledge about rope!

If anyone tells you you're too big or weigh too much to be tied or even suspended, that's bullshit. There are challenges to tying people of any body type, skinny or fat, and what they are varies far more between individual people than it does between different body types.

Most of the advice I can think of for people with bigger bodies also applies to people who are skinny. Know your limits! Be aware of any medical conditions you have and how they might effect being tied. If you have specific limbs with impaired circulation, nerve damage, or impaired sensation, take extra care(or ensure your top takes extra care) with those limns or avoid tying them entirely. If you've got respiratory issues, avoid ties that are tight on the chest, and avoid face down or inverted suspensions.

It basically always boils down to "know your limits, and make sure you communicate them to your top".

I'd recommend the book "Better Bondage for Every Body" by Evie Vane. It's all about tying people who don't fit into the box of "skinny able-bodied cis woman". Along with an entire chapter about tying larger folks, there's chapters on tying older people, people with limited range of motion, and more. It does tend to focus a lot on suspensions(something which being fat does not prevent you from doing), but most of it will apply to floor work as well.
