Day 23!

Today I had a concert so didn't have much time to do anything so instead, I thought I'd take Rin with me! It was actually quite calming having this little strap with me despite my constant fear of dropping her during my commute haha~ Hopefully one day I can take all my little Rins out and about with me in an itabag or something, I think that'd be cute and fun!

Day 22!

I'm back with the terribly inconsistent drawings but with a sketch dedicated to Himari Uehara since its her birthday today/tomorrow (timezones are weird) Anyway, I like how this turned out so I might scan and redraw this digitally tomorrow! For some reason, I think Rin could be good friends with Hiichan~

Day 19!

Today I get myself in the festive mood for the season upcoming - Halloween! I made a spooky twitter layout for Rin and I like how the soft orangey-pink colour compliments the grey. The icon also looks a bit weird because it’s a funny transparent one and I forgot how they work for a hot minute. Anyway, where’s our Halloween pt.2 for μ's ??? I want more spooky looks for my girl KLab ;;;

Day 18~

Some more phone wallpapers! I’m having a lot of fun doing these and trying to come up with different compositions so they look different. I love how good Rin looks in pink she’s so cute and I’m just so happy for her~~ I’m also really proud of how much I’ve improved since yesterday? I think these look a lot nicer and there’s slightly more going on without it looking too crowded! You can use these if you want but let me know/show me if you do!

Day 17!

Today I took on the challenge of creating phone wallpapers and surprisingly, it was much more difficult than I initially thought! I’m used to making smaller, low key edits like icons and headers so making a phone wallpaper was something else really.

I used Rin’s (probably) most popular card that’s out there and I love the contrast of yellow:blue that is here! Of course, it’s not that great but with practice I hope I can improve!

A little update from me~

So I stopped uploading here for a few days because I had genuinely run out of ideas for what to do for Rin! I had already drawn a few pictures and even wrote a little bit about what Rin means to me but then I kept asking myself what else? In a way, it sort of damaged my feelings for Rin, at first this project was a lot fun and I was really enjoying making things for Rin and talking about her which reignited my love for her.

But then, as I started running out of time in the day because I was busy with schoolwork or my mental state just genuinely being a bit on the border, committing myself to think of something new and fresh to do felt like more of a chore rather than me really wanting to do something. So, after thinking about it for a few days I came to a conclusion.

I never wanted to stop posting and celebrating her, this project has constantly been on my mind and I didn’t want to abandon it after all the work I had already put into it and that initial feeling of genuine love for a character that means so much to me that rushed over me again as I started this project - I wanted to see if I could keep that feeling with me forever.

So I’m going to try and pick this up again, chances are it’ll just be little doodles of Rin and edited wallpapers and icons because that’s what I enjoy doing. I tried to write a short story the other day but no ideas came to mind so maybe I’ll try that when I have the inspiration! Hopefully I’ll be able to post daily again (or every other day at the least) because I’m not at school for the next two weeks that lead up to Rin’s birthday!

Finally, I would like to apologise to Rin, I’m sorry I took a few days away from this project that I promised to dedicate my heart to but I suppose I just fell a bit too down in the dumps but I guarantee that I will keep pushing forward and take many twirling steps into the future and meet you on your birthday!

Day 16.

(hhh i’m sorry I wasn’t able to upload yesterday and I didn’t have much time to do anything so I thought I’d share my thoughts and feelings about the kururin miracle event that happened on WW over a year ago now~~)

Day 9 + 10!

The first day of this event will forever be burned in my memory, I remember waking up being quite unfit for school so my mum let me stay home - fortunately enough that day just so happened to be the first day of this event fufu~

I didn’t really want to move from bed so I waited until the event started and prepared myself for however long the rush to the first SR would be (turned out I’d be playing for well over 2 hours).

After receiving the SR I immediately checked where I was currently placed. #14! How crazy was that?? I also took the time to check how many others there were that had 10k+ event points to see how many other people had gotten the SR at that point in time and as it turned out, only 20 others had actually obtained the SR at that point in time. It absolutely amazed me to know that I was anywhere between the 14th and 21st person to have owned that card on the WW server - of which has over 21 million players worldwide now. Even thinking about that to this day blows my mind!

I’ll be honest, I don’t remember the event after day 1 but waking up on the 21st in great anticipation to find out where I finally ranked was both worrisome but exciting! (Especially after the tragic events of the Eli-Rin score match that took place completely out of the blue...). But alas, my worries were put to rest as I had seen that not only I had kept my place in the 1st tier, but I had also ranked #777 in the event! A crazily lucky number and one that I will relate to myself and Rin from that day on.

Sorry for not having a separate post for Day 9 but I’m slowly realising how ambitious I was with this project and I’m trying really hard not to repeat themes (ie: several drawings and edits) so I’m sprinkling little nostalgia stories here and there to reminisce on how Rin has impacted my life~~

Day 8!

Today I decided I'd share some thoughts on rin and talk a little about what she means to me

I actually had to think about this for a while because I don't tend to feel too strongly about anything really and well I thought I'd ask myself "why rin?" And I suppose she's a role model to me more than anything and that's the conclusion I came to

Rin's journey to getting in touch with her girly side is inspiring, for years she wanted to wear dresses and be cute but never embraced that side of her simply because people always commented on how boyish she looks and she conformed to that idea of herself.

It's quite silly but I have a similar struggle myself, I'd love to be able to wear dresses and be girly but I don't feel cute yet and think too much about how the people I see on a daily basis would react to such a change. I feel this way concerning a lot of aspects of me, some matters being a little more private than others.

But Rin's story gives me confidence in myself. With the support of her friends she was able to embrace and love the cute and girly side of her she longed to live as and I hope one day I can obtain that kind of confidence to not only wear the clothes I think are cute but to also be honest with the people around me and talk about things I keep to myself~

Day 6!

Today we have another little drawing and this one depicts Rin's famous cafe maid UR! I love this card to bits and I successfully got her on my 7th pull in Rin's birthday box last year!

Day 5!

Today we have another wallpaper/edit sorta thing~ This will serve purpose as a banner for a youtube channel where I’ll upload videos (covers, scouting...) for future days! This took a really long time to do and my goodness rin’s hair accessories are a bother! But it’s worth it because they add to her cuteness~

Day 4!

Today I try my hand at making a wallpaper featuring pyjama rin!

I’m used to making icons and I’ve never really tried making a wallpaper so today I did and I gotta say I’m quite proud with the result! It’s simple and cute and has an essence of fuwafuwa to it (which is perfect for the fuwafuwa mouse rin~)

Day 3!

(Sound warning? I think it’s a bit loud so be careful~)

Today I tried translating lyrics! With the help of the translations available on love-live.wikia.com I then suited them so that the number of syllables matched up with the syllables sang in Japanese! Doing this allowed me to really look into the lyrics for Kururin Miracle and see how perfectly the song reflects Rin’s character! I felt like I fell in love with her all over again writing out the song and singing it!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy and see you tomorrow for day 4!!

Day 2

Day 1!

Today I drew my first ever (and thus) favourite SR in love live! school idol festival; magic lamp! I've had the card for many years now and still have yet to idolise her ;; maybe I will finally get a second copy in one month's time?

For the whole month of October, I plan to post at least once a day something RIN-spired as we count down the days leading to her birthday; November 1st!

I’m really excited to carry out this project (Rin’s Birthday Project 2018??) and my first task will be to nicely organise my website so that it is suited for the nya infested girl we all love <3
