A lot of watching ENT is going “y’know what Enterprise? Fuck yeah” because they just did shit. Oh yeah that species is like straight up bugs. That one procreates through putting their hands in a bunch of marbles and then Trip the human man got pregnant. Denobulans live healthy poly lives with so many fucking kids. We got a Vulcan hooked on drugs. Archer has a dog. The British Navy still exists. We got Jeffery Combs to get full body painted and sit for prosthetics again and he kills it.

I'd like to direct your attention to a passion project that dropped 4 days ago, but looks like something straight out of 2010 YouTube: Harry Potter and the Stone, a shot-for-shot (2 hour 30 minute long) spoof remake by someone called Doggie House.

Featuring:

A fully-bearded 11-year-old (the baby version was also played by him),

Two Dumbledores for no stated reason,

This guy as the snake in the zoo (and many other animals portrayed similarly),

The greatest portrait gallery of all time,

and Hagrid on a tricycle.

Many of their locations are handmade miniatures with actors greenscreened in front, and the way the editing ensures that absolutely NOBODY looks like they're actually walking around (rather, just...slithering in place, and somehow being propelled forward regardless) makes for some of the funniest and most engaging crowd shots I've ever seen.

The dedication to the amount of editing, set-building, and sheer commitment to the utterly bizarre makes me so happy to see; I love grand-scale passion projects!

many hate to hear it because they want the post-voyager voyager crew to be just like in the cute fluffy fanfic they’ve imagined in their minds where janeway gets married to either chakotay or seven and everyone goes to therapy and lives happily ever after but i actually think the glimpses that mainline trek has given us of the former voyager crew being emotionally unstable wrecks forever and ever is not only much more interesting but much more true to the emotional fallout of everything they went through
