there are some days or periods of time wjere my brain is not competent for conversation, its like when youre reading a math problem over and over and it wont make sense no matter how many times you read it .. i get too stuck inside my head and i dont feel present
I know it’s trendy right now to say that adopting more of an eco-friendly lifestyle is pointless because the only way to save humanity is to destroy capitalism, but we should remember that many of those lifestyle changes help us build skills and social networks that would be important in a post-capitalism future.
For example, if we’re going to end reliance on factory farming, it would really help for more people to learn to garden and grow food. Same for other hands-on skills like cooking, crafts, home repair, tech repair, etc. Even small things like using re-usable water bottles and bags or thrifting/swapping items to cut down on waste would be regular features of a post-capitalist society, so making them more widely practiced now is a great thing.
Systemic changes are necessary for sure, but they *will* involve lifestyle changes too, and it’s important to do your part to create that from the ground up. We don’t get to a better system by destroying the old one, but by building up the new one. 🌱
this person’s response to being constantly assaulted by their own cats is to hide inside an enclosed tent in their living room
i don’t really like my stepdad. but aside from that he’s like a stereotypical american white guy who drinks miller lite and loves the chicago bears and country music, but i do remember this one time when i was like 14/15 i was in the car with him and korn’s freak on a leash was on the radio and he out of no where did the wild nasty beat boxing part along to the song and i was like “w…what. .. .?” and he was literally like “no one will believe you” and that’s the only time i’ve really felt this emotion
People who are pansexual are:
attracted to persons regardless of their gender
and/or attracted to all genders
people with a really pretty PRIDE flag
we are not:
special bisexual snowflakes
calling bi people transphobic
confused
Also bisexuality is an awesome and valid identity and you can pry my bi/pan solidarity from my cold dead hands
People who are bisexual are:
Attracted to two or more genders
Can be attracted to all genders but prefers to use bisexual as a term/label
People with a really cool pride flag
We are NOT:
Transphobic
Disregarding of nonbinary genders
Confused
Shout-out to my pan siblings btw! Y'all are great! Anyone who disagrees can pry bi/pan solidarity from my cold, dead fingers
Woo! Yes!
i have to tell you something that will lower your entire opinion of me
when i was 12 i made flyers for my fanfiction and handed them out a train station
im blown away by the sheer confidence this act required. if anything my opinion has been raised. the poise. the fearlessness. the laughing in the face of death. i’m speechless
listen i love greta thunberg i really do like what an icon BUT i think it’s absolutely ridiculous that she, a literal child, is being made to be the face of stopping climate change. and she obviously thinks its ridiculous too. i’ve seen so many adults in power talking about how inspirational she is and everything, and then pretty much just stop there. it is EMBARRASSING that the 4.5 billion people over the age of 30 on earth right now are looking to one teenager to fix the problems they created. it’s not inspirational, it’s pathetic. Greta has to be so extremely aggravated with the amount of attention and lack of actual action from policymakers, because I sure am.
couldn’t stop thinking about that one franz kafka quote about hiding your face in your lovers embrace and them doing the same because the world doesn’t need to see you anyways need me a freak like that
I literally need 30 brands of applesauce and 80 brands of cornflakes otherwise I will die
“No choice, no hope” is THE funniest way to describe not being able to pick Aquafina over Dasani
someone pointed out its explicitly a restaurant supply store, which is why it only stocks large amounts of the exact same products and mostly in large sizes - so he didn't even walk into a supermarket in the first place
oh my fuck
