i’m no meteorologist, but i feel like an ecumenopolis that goes multiple miles deep (at the least) would fuck up weather patterns
how does condensation work? how does breathing work? how high up in the atmosphere are they? have they gotten used to oxygen deprivation, like the people who live in mountainous regions?
what did the geography look like? was it hospitable?
honestly, i kind imagine coruscant, at least the slightly lower levels, to be similar to the kowloon walled city
perhaps it started similarly as well, just without ever brought into regulation
something that started relatively small, but after a devastating event, like a war, began to grow at an unprecedented pace
eventually spreading across the whole planet as more and more people throughout the galaxy became aware of the planet of growth
maybe it started out in the galaxy as a place of lawlessness
the core planets couldn’t have always been marketed as the places of “civilization” and “prosperity”
perhaps the jedi order of many generations past got in on the proto-coruscant, one that wasn’t viewed as the capital of the republic because the republic didn’t exist yet as we know it
idk i’m just spitballing here, because i continue to be perplexed by coruscant and how and why it exists because i refuse to believe nobody was like “yo y’all are dumbass bitches for even thinking an ecumenopolis is a good idea”
