I will always defend and love Luke Skywalker and Padme Amidala/Queen Amidala because they are incredibly kind characters. Kind characters are always shit on especially because people think being kind is equal to being weak or too forgiving when that's not true. It takes incredible strength to always be kind and have empathy, even to people who on the surface might not deserve it. And it's not about forgiveness , especially for Luke and Padme. It's about love and what they believe to be true.
