there should be an episode of mob psycho where an orchestra somewhere is panicking because their conductor has been killed by an evil spirit and reigan shows up thinking he and mob would exorcise the spirit but mob doesnt show up for his own reasons so reigan calls him while standing in front of the orchestra. Mob doesn’t answer so reigan goes on to leave him a very long voicemail explaining the situation but while hes doing so, all his hand movements make the orchestra think hes the replacement conductor. And so they start playing to his hand movements which results in a shockingly stunning and unique performance from this orchestra. People talk about it forever. It goes down in history as a moment that changed music forever etc etc

to think that during the two years mondo spent in hopes peak growing and becoming the best version of himself through the help of his peers its stripped away in the killing game's memory wipe and he's back where he started, neck deep in his insecurities and toxic masculinity, using his anger as a shield until it gets him killed. the whole thing makes me miserable

artist x muse ishimondo idea i had last night

lately i've been thinking about mondo as an amateur artist. he'd focus mainly on woodworking/sculptures, but i think he'd also like to pick up drawing, and take a WILD guess who he uses as his muse/model...

even better if it's pre-sauna and mondo is fixated on taka but he doesn't realize it's cuz he totally has a crush

he's constantly staring at taka in class all day, trying to memorize taka's features so he can draw them, and taka just assumes mondo's angry and trying to intimidate him lol

their internal monologues are like:

taka: ugh, owada is staring at me again. does he think i don't notice when he does that? does he really think it intimidates me? what a weak show of "strength". he's such a coward

mondo: damn, i never noticed he's got a beauty mark by the corner of his mouth... i'll have to remember to add that to the next sketch. and his brows are way thicker than i thought. hm. gotta remember to exaggerate those unhappy wrinkles... oh, and his crow's feet too... need to go to the crafts store and find a pencil with a shade of red as beauti-- I MEAN UH FUCK UM i mean-- as intense as his eyes are yeah not beautiful ew what haha what

imagine a scenario where taka stumbles upon all the drawings... mondo's got a sketchbook full of them so it's very awkward. almost obsessive but in a dorky sweet way

maybe mondo's sketching in class, hunched over his drawing in order to hide it (cuz he's embarrassed; he kind of has a complex ab being an artist, maybe he sees it as feminine so he's embarrassed to let ppl know he draws? idk). taka marches up behind him and yells at him to quit drawing in class and to pay attention, and he's like "what are you even drawing that's so important it takes precedence over your academic success?! probably something ridiculous like motorcycles or superheros or--" [he sees that it's a cute little portrait of himself, smiling widely (maybe with flowers drawn around it lol) and he goes completely red-faced] "oh. um. so. uh. you--"

and mondo slaps his hands over it and yells, "FUCK SHIT DON'T FUCKIN LOOK! I CAN EXPLAIN! THAT'S NOT YOU I SWEAR IT'S UM- IT'S LIKE MY OC OR WHATEVER THAT JUST HAPPENS TO LOOK LIKE YOU EXCEPT IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE YOU CUZ THAT'S NOT EVEN YOU WHY WOULD YOU EVEN THINK THAT FUCK OFF GO AWAY KILL YOURSELF"

or maybe the 'reveal' (so to speak) happens when leon leans over his desk to peek at what mondo's sketching, sees that it's taka (and that the entire rest of the page and the rest of the sketchbook are also full of taka), nearly screams with laughter, grabs the book, and yells out between chuckles "yo hall monitor! you gotta see this!" and mondo's like "LEON MOTHERFUCKIN KUWATA I SWEAR TO CHRIST I WILL TIE YOU TO THE BACK OF MY BIKE AND DRAG YOU ALONG THE ASPHALT UNTIL YOU'RE NOTHIN BUT A FINE RED PASTE"

Something I’ve realized about trigger happy havoc is how misogynistic the second chapter is.

It simultaneously does a good job showing the impacts of toxic masculinity and still pushing a misogynistic narrative.

They put so much emphasis on the idea that Chihiro’s natural femininity and sensitivity makes them weak, while the  desire they end up with to “be a man” is strong that it seems sort of counterintuitive.

On one hand, Mondo and Chihiro are both amazing representations of how Toxic masculinity can diminish someone’s sense of self esteem.

Mondo is an examination on how being raised in a violent and crime filled world can produce negative self image that depends heavily on their honor in the community they have, and how these biker gangs can create terrible weakness complexes like the one Mondo has

and Chihiro is an examination on how bullying based on gender roles and expression can create serious issues with one’s identity and security in personal expression, forcing someone to put on a mask or facade to be accepted in a binary role where they originally may not have fit.

on the other, Chihiro’s “personal growth” is just feeding right back into what their bullies wanted but in the complete reverse.

instead of “accepting” their “weakness” (femininity), they are motivated to be “stronger” (more masculine) it perpetuates the same idea that hurt them:

Femininity equals weakness and is shameful 

Masculinity equals strength and is admirable

I feel like I might be reading into Okuyasu's character too much but I always saw Okuyasu's lack of intelligence not as something he was just born with but more so as unintentional conditioning from Keicho because for almost his whole life he had been protecting and taking care of Okuyasu and so eventually Okuyasu built up a almost total reliance on Keicho and I feel like Keicho kinda resents this dependents on him because he did have to basically give up his whole life or at least having a chance at a life to take care of Okuyasu but due to he fact he had been caring for Okuyasu for so long he doesn't know how to stop and due to the fact Okuyasu had spent his whole life relying on Keicho he doesn't know how to really stop either and due to Keicho's death Okuyasu is kinda forced him to learn how to live independently I feel like the part that really drives this have for me is earlier into the part we are told he often wishes his brother was still there to tell him what to do but at the end not only does Keicho not tell him what to do but he chooses to stay in morioh where he can make decisions for himself and doesn't go with his brother even though that would mean that he could get told what to do again
