It was a good thing that she had her rucksack on her, first-aid kit inside. Even though she was hardly a nurse, she had been a mother, and was accustomed to dealing with minor abrasions. This cut maybe bordered more on moderate, but she could at least do what she could for them. “It doesn’t look too terrible.” She commented as she tended to their wound. “Someone with professional experience should take a look at it, though. You may need stitches.”

“I don’t know how much longer I can deal with him.” Maggie sighed, her face in her hands for a moment before she looked over at Victoria, the woman she’d grown close to in her time here. She was one of the few people Maggie truly trusted here at Hilltop. “Sometimes I think he’s just bein’ an ass to stress me out on purpose.”

“I’m sure he is.” Victoria agreed, expression both sympathetic and annoyed, the latter directed towards the man in question. “He’s a weak man who’s had his power usurped, by someone far more capable I might add. Petty, childish nonsense is how his sort copes with a bruised ego.” She reached out and gave Maggie’s arm a brief, reassuring squeeze. “Knowing that hardly makes it more bearable though, does it?”

Anakin was wandering through the woods, trying to scavenge whatever he could find to eat. He didn’t care if it was squirrel, deer, rabbit, whatever. He stopped dead in his tracks however when he heard a familiar snap of twigs, followed by a low grunt and growl. Anakin didn’t take any chances and began running until he landed right straight into a walker. Falling backwards, he tried to move away as the walker got closer and closer. In a panic, he began to scream out ‘HELP! SOMEBODY HELP ME!’, hoping someone would find him.

Having been consumed by an unshakable restlessness all day, Victoria had decided to patrol the area around the Hilltop in an effort to ease her mind and feel more productive. She was armed with a knife, something she both hated and felt comforted by all at once. Despite her initial reservations she had actually taken to weapons training fairly well and had killed her share of walkers in that time. Maybe that was why she didn’t hesitate when she heard someone screaming for help, rushing towards the cry despite the fear coursing through her. The walker was closing in on someone and she quickly came up behind the thing, plunging her knife into the side of its head. She watched it crumple to the ground and stared, stunned for a moment before bending down to retrieve her blade. “You alright?”

“You didn’t intrude, you can walk wherever you want.” She answered back. Blue eyes looked around and she shrugged, “I got a few around here, some are more visable then others.” Izy pointed, “The one next to you, two more facing South East of you. And then a few scattered here and there. It’s a precaution.”

Victoria nodded at the explanation, glancing around and spotting a few now that she was looking for them. She really needed to be more careful... Planning to turn back the way she had just come, she hesitated for a moment, not sure if this young woman was entirely alone out here. “You certainly seem to have yourself sorted.” She observed, not wanting to ask outright.

“I don’t mind if you wanted to, though. They’re pretty soft.” Heikki grinned. “I did, actually. There’s Mama and Papa Goat, then Simon, Flora, Bellamy, and Konsta. I named them after my family.” He explained.

She found the gesture sweet, but only smiled in response. Talking about his family could lead to discussion about hers, and she was never in the mood for that. Instead she reached into the enclosure and pet the one closest to her. “They are quite adorable.”

“Hey.” Heikki spotted someone heading toward the goat enclosure. “You’re more than welcome to pet the others, but stay away from the white one. That’s Papa Goat, and he bites.”

She looked at the goat in question with a small, but amused smile. “I wasn’t planning on touching any of them. Just having a look.” Animals made good company when she didn’t want to be alone, but still wanted some space from the others. "Have you named them all?”

           the guard rubbed his tired, puffy eyes - a small yawn escaping his mouth as he did so. it felt like this was the first time he could take an eased breath in a while. he was silent, just taking in the calm surroundings - the rare sounds of birds chirping breaking the still air. it had been a long week. an increase in looming walkers near the kingdom threatening to form into a horde and close in on the former school had made for no rest for samyong. he had been on the edge of his seat the entire time, weapons at his side to prepare for anything. but the threat passed and he was just left to his thoughts - which also wasn’t a good thing.. an imposing question formed in his mind, and he immediately felt compelled to spill his wonder to person near him.  ❛      so, how do you think this is all gonna end?   ❜

She was quiet for a moment, not sure how to answer the question, or if she even wanted to ponder that. Normally she tried not to think about the too distant future. It was easier to focus on the few things she had control over in the present, not the hopelessness that she worried lay ahead. “Are you referring to our conflict with the Saviors or the state of things in general?” As the question left her lips she realized: “Well, I suppose I don’t have an answer to either... I certainly hope this could all work out somehow.”

isadora sat in a large tree, she found some yarn and created two needles using cleaned up sticks. knitting away the day the small girl had set up her traps earlier waiting for something to bite. it wasn’t all bad, the woods were buzzing with the sound of animals and no walkers came through so it was literally just a matter of waiting. the blonde stayed quiet up in her tree until she heard rustling. she put her project down and looked around. she saw a figure of a person and though she didn’t trust them enough to get from her perch she did call out, “hey you’re about two feet from getting your ankle snapped off.”

Victoria froze at the words, not immediately sure if it was a threat or a warning (or possibly both). She looked up and, though judging people based on appearance was foolish in this world, admittedly felt less on edge when the source of the voice was a young girl. “I didn’t mean to intrude...” She remained stationary, not about to move until she knew a safe path. “Do you have many traps around here?”
