The majority being discriminated against are called Uyghurs. Khazaks, Uzbeks, and Tajiks are also being ostracized. They are Turkic minorities. They are people. And the world is unaware.

There is an estimated one million people in these so called “re-education camps”. Uyghur people are being forced to assimilate into Chinese culture through marriage. Uyghur children are forced to learn Mandarin and Uyghurqi, the language, is prohibited to be taught in schools. There is a lot of Uyghur unemployment due to ethnic discrimination. Uyghur people are routinely, unjustly imprisoned, and many die. An elderly Uyghur poet was imprisoned. An Uyghur couple my family knows was beaten, and the wife suffered a miscarriage. These are just a few examples of discrimination.

Rebiya Kadeer is fighting for our voices to be heard. She is one of many who was unjustly imprisoned, due to her political activism. She was put on death row and was told to keep quiet or her family would be killed. More than 30 of her relatives have been unjustly detained in the concentration camps. Read her book (Dragon Fighter).

My culture is forcefully being erased. My people are dying. Who is listening? Who can help us?

This is ethnic cleansing.

This is the coming of the second Holocaust. I know that that word cannot be used lightly, which is why I am using it. I hope you all understand the severity of the situation.

Please spread the word. Be aware of this. Tell your friends, your family, anyone who will listen.

Uyghurs can’t reach out for help, but you can on their behalf.

None of us live in China so. There’s a big difference. Good luck storming into another country and saying they are all pieces of shit for letting something happen. You’ll change nothing lol

Hmm… We can influence foreign policy through contact with our elected representatives. The United States is capable of putting pressure on China, through trade, to stop such inhumanity.

However.

We haven’t been successful in stopping Chinese persecution of practitioners of Fal Gong, which is just as bad. We also haven’t been able to stop Chinese persecution of Christianity over there, either.

There are limits as to what we can do. This isn’t like World War II - there, the Axis countries were actively invading other countries and taking control, thus justifying the US’s intervention. Here, China is staying within its own borders. It’s the Muslim population that’s entering into China, not the other way around.

Because of this, we have limited capabilities.

Do you want to see us go outright to war? Do you want to be conscripted into the army to invade China?

Everyone would tell us we’re not justified in attacking China. And they’d be right, just like they were right to oppose our putting political puppets in charge of South American or Middle Eastern countries in the past. Do you want to see more of that happening?

China isn’t like a small South American country - they’re a global superpower. Trying to topple them and install our own government wouldn’t just be wrong, it would be dangerous for the whole world.

Stop and think before you extol people to action. What kind of action can we take as a country? I can write letters to my representatives and senators. Will that satisfy you? Or do you have some other “test” of my character you want to force me through before you’ll consider me “good?”

Just want to point out that regarding Uyghurs specifically, they’ve existed in Xinjiang since at least the 9th century and have been a Muslim people group for over four hundred years. They’re not entering China, they’ve been native there (and persecuted there) for centuries.
